Hi! I am 49 years of age and share my home with a 8 year old Siamese kitty named Misha. I am a full time student, going back to school after all these years, but squeeze in some needlework and crafting whenever I can.
I love Swap-bot for all the different people I meet and the inspiration I get from all the different swaps. Besides, who doesn't love snail mail?! :)
I love to read and lately that has also included listening to audio books. Favorite authors include Louise Hay, Maeve Binchy and Barbara Kingsolver. Favorite books include All the Light the World Cannot See; The Boys in the Boat; Pride and Prejudice; The Silent Patient.
I am also a huge magazine fan! O (Oprah), HGTV, Food Network and any quilting/needlework and cooking magazines.
The 100 Foot Journey, Blind Side, Julie & Julia, Mona Lisa Smile, Sister Act, Larry Crowne.
Quilting!! X-Stitch!!
Quilting - I love scrap quilts, especially, and batik fabrics. Love purples, greens & aqua.
X-Stitch - HUGE Lizzie Kate fan along with Mill Hill Button & Bead kits, Hands on Designs, Tiny Modernist, Madame Chantilly...the list could go on forever; prefer stitching on 28 and 32 counts - my eyes can't do 18/36 counts too well anymore.
Reading, Cooking/Baking, Crafts, Rainy Days, Chocolate!, Disney (especially Mickey and Minnie plus vintage/classic Disney), Journaling, Glitter, Walks on the Beach!!, polka dots and stripes, The colors: aqua, greens and purples.
Note Cards! (not sure how my supply got so low); memo sheets/pads; little journals/notepads; funky office supplies; Stickers, including alphabet/number stickers - full sheets, though - not partially used; Smashbooking supplies; Planner stickers; book marks; Washi tape; buttons; beads and jewelry making supplies; and Fun/pretty cupcake/muffin papers.
Due to Allergies: Scented Products (candles, lotion, perfume, etc.), Nuts (pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts). Ironically, peanuts are fine.
I do not do Friendship Books, Slams, etc.
Fourth of July - We hold a big bbq for our friends and love to decorate inside and out with red, white and blue!
Halloween - I do more in an autumnal theme rather than skeletons, bats, etc.
Thanksgiving - We also host our friends at this time. We love to decorate a lot for this holiday and especially like the items that say things like, thankful, grateful, gather, etc.
Hanukkah/Christmas - This house does both! For Christmas, I try and keep things more of a winter/snowman theme, woodland. Gingerbread and peppermint themed in the kitchen.
Hand applique; Jewelry making and beading; Paper crafts and card making.
