IMPORTANT: There is currently a rotating postal strike here in Canada. Cities are on strike for a 24-hour time period (bigger cities like Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, etc., often stay on strike for 2 or 3 consecutive days!). There is currently a HUGE backlog of mail following the Toronto and Montreal strikes.
So please be mindful of your Canadian partners, if things seem to get lost in the mail, if they fail to rate promptly, or if their swap is taking a long time to get to you. Your swap might be getting held hostage by Canada Post!
Welcome to my profile! I'm a French Canadian girl in her early thirties (yikes!). I'm also fluent in English, and can understand Spanish and Italian. I really love learning new languages and wish I had the time and energy to learn them all! The next two languages I want to learn are Danish (I know a little bit) and German.
I've had many changed in my life in 2017-2018. My first child, a baby girl, was born in March of 2018. Because of that, I can sometimes be slow with my ratings but I'll always rate within a week or two of receiving a swap. You can always check with me if you are worried your swap hasn't arrived.
I took a long hiatus from Swap-Bot, but now I am back and loving it more than ever! I just love preparing something for someone I don't know and knowing it will brighten their day. I take my swaps very seriously, I always send on time, and it is why I would prefer you contact me and give me a chance to re-send if something gets lost in the mail before rating.
I have a large variety of interests which include (but are not limited to) reading, paper crafting, bullet journaling, computer/video games, and writing letters/novels.
I love participating in any kind of swaps, but type 1s and 2s are my favorite. I host many swaps here on Swap-Bot, but also in my Facebook groups (pen pal groups). (See above for more details). I also have a blog where I review books and I write a newsletter for one of my groups.
In 2018, I hope to develop my skills in art journals and ATCs. I love the feeling of freedom that comes with creating something out of nothing!
I'll read anything that catches and holds my attention. My preferred genres are thrillers, crime novels, chick lit, and non-fiction (self help and autobiographies).
Some of my favorite authors:
Louise Jensen, Karen Clarke, Kathy Reichs, Ken Follett, Camilla Lackberg, Dan Brown, Amelie Dubois, and L.M. Montgomery.
Netflix is my best friend and so is the French Canadian version of it tou.tv. I mainly watch sitcoms, game shows, reality shows, and paranormal shows.
Sitcoms: How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Full House, Fuller House, Friends, 2 Broke Girls, Scrubs, One Day at a Time
Other shows: Castle, Bones, Ghost Hunters, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Gilmore Girls,
For your French Canadians: Les beaux malaises, Radio Enfer, District 31, and shows with Patrice L'Écuyer or Véronique Cloutier.
I love making pcoket letters and flipbooks. I sometimes dabble in scrapbooking, but I find it too time-consuming and I never have enough time to finish my projects.
I also like to cross stitch. Again, I rarely finish any projects. I've got about 5 on-going projects at the moment.
My goals for 2018 are art journals, ATCs, and junk journaling.
There aren't many things I don't like to receive. Here is a small list of things I would prefer not to receive:
I am opened to doing private swaps, especially if you are new to Swap-Bot and have been banned from my swaps because of it. You need to be committed though.
I'd be interested in doing easy swaps like postcards, washi samples, and loose stickers.
I thought these deserved a section of their own. My wishes are just that... wishes. No obligation to send!
Stickers (likes): dolphins, butterflies, owls, and frogs
Stickers (dislikes): Disney, religious, children stickers (ie Paw Patrol, Spiderman, etc.)
Washi samples: LOVE all kinds, but right now I am looking for either skinny samples or themed samples (ie books, dolphins, butterflies, etc.).
