IMPORTANT: There is currently a rotating postal strike here in Canada. Cities are on strike for a 24-hour time period (bigger cities like Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, etc., often stay on strike for 2 or 3 consecutive days!). There is currently a HUGE backlog of mail and parcels.
So please be mindful of your Canadian partners, if things seem to get lost in the mail, if they fail to rate promptly, or if their swap is taking a long time to get to you. Your swap might be getting held hostage by Canada Post!
It also means that the date your partner has put your swap on the mailbox might not match the date stamp on the envelope.
Welcome to my profile! I'm a French Canadian girl in her early thirties (yikes!). I'm also fluent in English and have basic understanding of Spanish and Italian. I LOVE languages and I wish I could learn them all. Sadly, I do not have the time.
I'm an elementary school teacher, but at the moment I am on maternity leave. In March 2018, I gave birth to my first child, a little girl.
I have a large variety of interests: reading, writing letters, working on my novels, singing, listening to music, playing computer/video/board games, shopping at Dollar stores and Michael's, doing yoga, swimming, being outdoors, watching TV series and movies, and travelling.
I also LOVE participating in swaps both on Facebook and here on Swap-Bot.I just love preparing something for someone I don't know and knowing it will brighten their day.
I take my swaps very seriously, I always send on time, and it's why I would prefer you contact me and give me a chance to re-send if something gets lost in the mail before rating.
I love reading thrillers and crime novels as well as the occasional biographies and chick lit novels. I don't have any favorite authors. As long as the book summary sounds interesting, I will give it a try. I really like discovering new authors as well.
I'm a fan of How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, and crime shows like Castle and Bones. I don't have cable so I only stream online.
I've tried many types of project in 2018. Those who stuck are: pocket letters, flipbooks, ATCs, and junk journaling.
I also like cross stitching and occasional adult coloring.
Looking for inspiration on what to send me? Here are things I would love to receive:
Here are other things I like to receive but have enough of at the moment (however, I won't say no to them if you decide to send lol):
I'm usually not picky when it comes to swaps, but here are things I would prefer not to receive:
I thought these deserved a section of their own. My wishes are just that... wishes. No obligation to send!
Stickers (likes): dolphins, butterflies, owls, and frogs
Stickers (dislikes): Disney, religious, children stickers (ie Paw Patrol, Spiderman, etc.), planner stickers
Washi samples: LOVE all kinds, but right now I am looking for themed samples (ie books, dolphins, butterflies, etc.).
On top of swapping here on Swap-Bot, I also admin a few Facebook penpalling groups. Come take a look and join if you are interested!
You can find the links at the top of my profile!
The Canadian Coast to Coast Penpal Café - A pen pal group for Canadian residents. We also have weekly wishes, tags, and giveaways!
Penpals Across the World (Ladies Only 18+) - A safe Facebook group for women to find penpals worldwide. What makes us different is that we only accept members who are looking for penpals anywhere. Country specific posts (like UK only, or Canada only) are not accepted.
Bookworm Penpals - This group is still rather small, but it has started to grow. It is a penpal group for women who also LOVE to read! Join us and share your passion of reading with other members!
