I agree. I want to change lives too but I don't yet know if I want to do that while in a classroom. I feel there is more to life than school but that could be because I'm American. Teaching here is geared towards standardized testing and I can't get behind that. I was planning on teaching in London. I just came back from a trip there in September and a friend of mine who teaches suggested I take a meeting with the Dean at his school. We talked, he is interested but I'd have to get certified there and right now I just want to live my life.
I don't want what I do for work to define me as a person.
PS: My ultimate fashion wish is to own a red Thriller jacket :)
First off, I love Michael Jackson. PYT is easily one of my favorite songs of all time.
Secondly, thanks for the welcome :) I think this is going to be a lot of fun and am looking forward to getting more involved.
Lastly, I decided to leave school because I don't think it is for me. In 50 years, when I look back on my life I think I will get more fond memories out of this decision than the opposition. That being said -- it's a personal choice but good luck to you in the field.
