I am currently working part-time for the USPS and am a Senior Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. I will be starting a part-time teaching job in the fall of 2015 at the elementary school level. I love Mary Kay and the opportunities it has provided me. I love to travel, meet new people, and learn how to do new things.

I love going on walks and picking up little odds and ends I find. It might be a stick, a rock, something someone discarded or even a flower to press into a book for later.

My favorite colors are bright, but not neon. I do like earth tones and patterns, but more realistic than abstract. I would like to visit Europe, specifically France and Germany. My favorite seasons are in the following order; summer, spring, fall and winter.

Just about any thing except what is considered pop music right now. I prefer classic and oldies. I also love hymns and worship music. KLOVE is my favorite radio station.

I like to listen to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Bobby Darrin, the Beatles, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, Chris Tomlin, Matthew West, Francesca Battistelli.

Here again, I read all sorts of books from children's to adult and across most all genres. Favorites are historical fiction and historical biographies. I am currently reading a book about the two wives of Theodore Roosevelt.

I enjoy studying the Bible, history, mysteries and children's books.

"The Wizard of Oz" is my all-time favorite film. I enjoy classic films from directors like Alfred Hitchcock and I especially enjoy anything with Cary Grant or Doris Day.

I like suspense and psychological thrillers over horror and shoot 'em up action films.

"Little House on the Prairie," "The Waltons," "Gilmore Girls," or reality TV like that which can be found on HGTV. Some of my favorite reality shows are Rehab Addict, The Picker Sisters, Salvage Dawgs, and Yard Crashers.

I also watch Project Runway and am addicted to Downton Abbey and BBC dramas.

Repurposing crafts, recycling, kids' crafts, and making items for my home. I like to take items headed for the junk heap and turn them into something useful. I enjoy composting and growing my own food. Canning, preserving and making use of every last bit of "stuff" is a goal I have.

I have attended the same Baptist church since I was a child. I enjoy studying the Bible verse by verse and learning how what happened in the Old Testament applies to our lives today. I believe Jesus is the Son of God, that the Holy Spirit lives within me, and that as a child of the King I will someday make my eternal home in Heaven.

I have served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School director, women's ministry Vice President and enjoy helping in the various outreach ministries of my church family.
