I am retired and enjoying the time to do the things I want to do, including travelling, reading, cooking, crafting and catching up with friends. Drinking coffee is fairly high on my list, too! I share a house with a friend, a cat (Coco) and a dog, Meg, so things are fairly busy and lots of fun around here :)
Probably the only kinds of music that don't really rate with me are heavy metal and of all things, country music. Not sure why! I went to a Lee Kernigan concert once and that was the end of me, never again! Maybe just a song here and there . . .
Love books and spend far too much time reading! Crime, fantasy and Regency romance (starting with Jane Austen) are favourite genres, but I will just about read anything if it takes my fancy or someone has recommended it. Scandinavian crime writers are a current hit!
Favourite movies are period pieces and ones with stories that attract my interest, such as 'Saving Mr Banks' about PL Travers is one example, but there are plenty of others! I also like going to Star Wars movies, loved the Harry Potter series and thought Avatar was pretty special.
I don't watch horror movies at all and will not go to a cinema to see a thriller, mainly because I screamed out loud once and scared people in the three rows around me! Thrillers are now for home viewing!
I love watching TV and enjoy things like Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, The Connors, Murdoch Mysteries and Vera (the books for both of these series were also excellent) and home shows such as Better Homes and Gardens and The Living Room.
Some of the reno shows are also fun: Good Bones, The Masters of Flip and Home Town to name a few. Not all of them appeal though! Others include Hughsey, We Have a Problem and Have You Been Paying Attention?
Card making is a favourite craft, particularly making Christmas cards. I just love all the bits and pieces you can buy and have quite a bit of stash that just relates to the silly season!
This year I also plan to make birthday cards, something I have never really done and probably should do - to use up some more of that stash! I have made ATCs in the past and occasionally completed the odd scrapbook page, which is something else I need to get into more as there is a trip from 15 years ago waiting to be finished in scrapbook form. It's now done, so I could do those trips to Singapore and New Zealand, as well as the most recent trip that took in Iceland, Greenland and Scotland!
Cross stitching is another interest, along with beading.
Cats, of course!
The dog I share the house with - Meg's not mine, but she is gorgeous!
Buttons: they were a bit of a feature on the Christmas cards I made last year. Fun and a bit different!
Most colours, just not pink. Lime green is a favourite, not that I wear it. Like yellow, it is a very happy colour!
My footy team's colours are red, blue and yellow and they are the Adelaide Crows, playing Australian Rules football. If this helps with anything!
Stickers of cats are always welcome (who knew there were so many?), along with Christmas stickers. Other favourites are ones that say things like 'Happy Mail', etc, that I can then use to decorate envelopes I send out. I like most things, I suppose, apart from teacher, scratch 'n' sniff and religious ones.
I am also a member of Postcrossing and have been for (currently) about 200-odd cards! I enjoy getting cards from around the world, seeing the sights I have yet to see and even ones I already have! I love it that people share bits of their lives and that there is such a diversity of people on the site, from all walks of life. It is so very interesting!
Food items. I have been recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes (and can't say I am thrilled about it, either!)
Flavoured teas or coffee. I am boring and just drink my preferred brand of black tea.
As for coffee, I tend to go to a fabulous coffee shop less than 5 minutes walk away for a daily cappuccino. I only have the one, just every day!
Cats (domestic) would be the all time favourite, followed closely by those of dogs! Just love my animals!
Another favourite are postcards that feature nature rather than man-made structures.
Other than that, I like seeing where other people live or a place of interest to them.
