About Me

I am retired and enjoying the time to do the things I want to do, including travelling, reading, cooking, crafting and catching up with friends. Drinking coffee is fairly high on my list, too! I share a house with a friend, a cat (Coco) and a dog, Meg, so things are fairly busy and lots of fun around here :)

Favorite Music

Probably the only kinds of music that don't really rate with me are heavy metal and of all things, country music. Not sure why! I went to a Lee Kernigan concert once and that was the end of me, never again! Maybe just a song here and there . . .

Favorite Books

Love books and spend far too much time reading! Crime, fantasy and Regency romance (starting with Jane Austen) are favourite genres, but I will just about read anything if it takes my fancy or someone has recommended it. Scandinavian crime writers are a current hit!

Favorite Movies

Favourite movies are period pieces and ones with stories that attract my interest, such as 'Saving Mr Banks' about PL Travers is one example, but there are plenty of others! I also like going to Star Wars movies, loved the Harry Potter series and thought Avatar was pretty special. I don't watch horror movies at all and will not go to a cinema to see a thriller, mainly because I screamed out loud once and scared people in the three rows around me! Thrillers are now for home viewing!

Favorite Television

I love watching TV and enjoy things like Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, The Connors, Murdoch Mysteries and Vera (the books for both of these series were also excellent) and home shows such as Better Homes and Gardens and The Living Room. Some of the reno shows are also fun: Good Bones, The Masters of Flip and Home Town to name a few. Not all of them appeal though! Others include Hughsey, We Have a Problem and Have You Been Paying Attention?

Favorite Crafts

Card making is a favourite craft, particularly making Christmas cards. I just love all the bits and pieces you can buy and have quite a bit of stash that just relates to the silly season! This year I also plan to make birthday cards, something I have never really done and probably should do - to use up some more of that stash! I have made ATCs in the past and occasionally completed the odd scrapbook page, which is something else I need to get into more as there is a trip from 15 years ago waiting to be finished in scrapbook form. It's now done, so I could do those trips to Singapore and New Zealand, as well as the most recent trip that took in Iceland, Greenland and Scotland! Cross stitching is another interest, along with beading.

Love

Cats, of course! The dog I share the house with - Meg's not mine, but she is gorgeous! Buttons: they were a bit of a feature on the Christmas cards I made this year. Fun and a bit different! Most colours, just not pink. Lime green is a favourite, not that I wear it. Like yellow, it is a very happy colour! My footy team's colours are red, blue and yellow and they are the Adelaide Crows, playing Australian Rules football. If this helps with anything! I am also a member of Postcrossing and have been for (currently) about 200-odd cards! I enjoy getting cards from around the world, seeing the sights I have yet to see and even ones I already have! I love it that people share bits of their lives and that there is such a diversity of people on the site, from all walks of life. It is so very interesting!

Please avoid sending

Food items. I have been recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes (and can't say I am thrilled about it, either!)

Flavoured teas or coffee. I am boring and just drink my preferred brand of black tea.

As for coffee, I tend to go to a fabulous coffee shop less than 5 minutes walk away for a daily cappuccino. I only have the one, just every day!

Comment: I messaged MeggyMoo on 9/11/19 and my message is still unread even though she was on the site on 9/15/19. This swap is over 2 months late and I understand that international mail can take longer which is why I waited so long before rating. If I receive anything I am willing to change this 1 rating. (Posted this comment on 9/16/19)
Response: Re-sent today. I am always willing to re-send! I have also messaged this swapper privately.

Comment: Thank you Tracy for the two cat sticker cards. I will be happy to pay them forward to my cat loving friends! They will love them. I really like them. Thank you for the extras. The pugs are fun. Have a safe and happy trip! I'm happy to have another stamp from Australia. I put the first one I received from you on a travelor's notebook, but I'm happy to have another because I'm thinking about starting a book to put all the stamps I receive in it.
Response: I love that you think enough of my cards to pass them on, I hope your cat loving friends like them too! I save my cat cards for special people too. I also think that the stamps on the envelopes are almost as much fun as the swap - it is amazing to see what different images countries use on their stamps! Sometimes I think ours can be rather boring, we are stuck in a 'building' phase at the moment in stamps for international postage and prior to that it was the Queen! Thankyou for the rating and the heart, and all the best!

Comment: Sorry for my late rating. Thank you for the great selection of bookmarks, including the bonus one! Thank you for the 3-D holiday stickers, the vintage Disneyland postcard is awesome! I wish she had put the full date on it and stamp. Maybe she mailed in envelope so no one would steal it. Fun fact: Disneyland opened on my Mom's 7th birthday!! And my family lived down the steet from Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. I was born in 1965 in Anaheim and was literrally down the street from Disneyland. We moved to Texas when I was 3. Thank you for the Norman Rockwall prints. I love Norman Rockwall!! It was a fun envelope to open!!. Thank you for joining my Swap again!
Response: I am so happy that you liked what I sent! It is good to know that the vintage pc has found a good home, given you have such a rich history with Disneyland. The Norman Rockwell cards were a gift from my American penpal, Becky, many years ago, I have been slowly eeking them out, only one left now. Thanks for the rating and the heart: a message like yours really makes it worthwhile! All the best, Tracy.

Response: Glad you liked the ginger boy! Ginger cats have always been a favourite with me, since my first one, (Humphrey) Bogart - Bogie - at 19! Love to Dudek and Smoaky!

Comment: Super cute postcard! Thanks for sharing! Also, your handwriting is SO nice!
Response: Glad you liked the card. The handwriting comes down to lots of practice and makes up for a lack of ability in the sporting arena!!! Thankyou for your lovely comments!
