About Me

Hi! I'm Ashley B. I am in love with art, music, talking, as well as other things. My favorite color is olive lime green, but I love all colors and any color is special to me and go through color phases, like right now my color faze is yellow, espeically marigold yellow. I spend a lot of time doing different kinds of art, which I will do until I am blind and can't movie. Music is my next love in which I make hip hop beats. Hula hooping is my favorite kind of exercise and show off thing that I know how to do. I love to talk to people, but I more so love animals which is my main source of drawings and paintings. It even rolls into my job in which I'm a pet care technician for a pet hotel. I don't get to PLAY with dogs and cats all day but I do get to interact with them all day and play with them some of the day. I even have a top five of favorites when it comes to animals: 1. bears (Spirit Bear aka Kermode Bear, which is a white black bear) 2. foxes, 3. owls, 4. deer, 5. rabbits. I have a pitbull akita mix named Riley So Smiley, he's my world, my protector and my best friend. I also have a 23lb jungle cat named Frankie, also my number one kitty buddy. I am in a very loving relationship that is almost at the 3 year mark and enjoy spending a lot of time with him. I also love, love, and love nature. Birch trees are my favorite with their peeling white bark, so beautiful right up there with the big reds and weeping willows. My favorite flower is the spider mum, they look like fireworks! Which leads to my favorite time of year FALL! It holds my favorite holiday Halloween. I also am partially deaf, I can't hear out of my left ear at all. It's nerve damage and could only be slightly fix by placing some device on my brain and through my ear, which would be pointless cause I wouldn't hear entirely and let me tell you being partially deaf makes sleeping awesome. Also, if I just put one headphone on that ear with heavy bass music it makes my eyes shake and it feels pretty awesome. Yeah, cause my ear drum works fine it's just the connection to my brain that doesn't work. I love little nic-nacs, I have all kinds of little toys and things I've found. Such as wind up toys, and little rabbits of all different kinds. I have this cool keychain of a moving fish as well as a pig light. I love little things like that, I have a shelf that I put them on. I also like ATC's a whole lot. I hope to collect a whole bunch and make a book one day that is a story incorporating them as the art! Old jewelry is awesome as well. If you have jewelry you don't want and find useless, I will find useful and or wear it! I'm a huge rock collector which ties back in with my nature loving. I love pretty gemstones. My favorite is my birthstone which is turquoise as well as azurite. I love any pretty stone though. I love it when people give me just a simple little 50 cent stone they found at flea market. I've got quite a collection of awesome geode slices because of that. I'm a huge etsy fan, I sit on that website for hours just looking through things. My favorites list is huge! I use that website as a muse. There are just so many talented people on there that it's hard not to constantly heart items. I also love craft websites like craftmagazine.com and craftster.com, many others as well. We are so lucky to have the internet and be able to have access to all this wonderful stuff at our fingertips. My goal is to travel the world, but my all time travel destination would be Japan. I hope to one day see that wonderful country with it's amazing culture and people and art. Brilliance! Well this is all I can think of to say right now, but check out my blog to get more of a feel, I don't update as often but will post every once in awhile.

The Joys of Being Able to Hear

I love music, just like the billions out there do. You will find hip hop and electronic music to be the mostly uploaded thing in my Ipod, but that is not all that I listen to. I am quite a fan of all types of music. I even love country, but not poppy country. I could go from Billie Holiday to Katatonia (metal). With being a hip hop producer, all music is inspiration. Speaking of my beat making, if you ever want to check my stuff out just post on the link above. Oh and be sure to send me bands that you think are worth checking out. I'm completely open minded and love adding something to rock out to through my headphones. Don't hesitate to ask me for band or group or singer or rapper suggestions, I'm always ready to throw something out there.

To Read or Not To Read

Reading is probably one of the best things I could do for my brain. It's amazing how well your imagination will work while reading. I love creating my own movie in my head. I like to read weird books, they'll be in a general genre like mystery but will not be your normal charactered mystery. For example I read this book called "The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse" which was about a boy named Jack and his sidekick named Teddy who was a teddy bear with a drinking problem, the only way he can get drunk is if he stands on his head. Well they both are trying to solve murders of nursery rhyme characters like humpty dumpty. The book gets pretty interesting with the religious views of toys as well as deep dark secrets of nursery rhyme characters. There is even a sequel to it! The other book that I've read that is weird is call "The 13 1/2 Lives of Captian Blue Bear." It is about exactly that, you know the books got to be interesting when you find out that this bear has learned to speak from the waves in the ocean. I'm not giving anything else away. A sci-fi book that I've started is by the creator of the Narnia series called "Out of a Silent Planet." It's part of an interesting Trilogy. I also like to read stuff like Harry Potter and the Sookie Stackhouse series. Which are both awesomely written books, especially Harry Potter, that woman is a genius. Currently I am also reading a Stephen King book called "The Dome," I'm in the middle of it and only read it when I'm in the car, but it's good and highly suggest it even if you're not a Stephen King fan. Anyone want to suggest a book to me, please do! I always have time to pick up a good book. I have yet to pick up a bad one, even suggested ones. My next goal is to get the Looking Glass Wars series. I love it when others stories, amatuer writing is awesome, especially comic books or things of the sort. Send me them if you want, I love to collect stuff like that.

Favorite Movies

I am a movie channel lover. I will probably pick a comedy or a weird movie above all. I usually just scroll through the movie channels and if it looks like a good movie, I'll watch it. I do have my favorites, Jennifer's Body (Huge Megan Fox fan), Super Troopers, The People Vs. Larry Flynt, Knocked Up (I think that's the only movie that I ever laughed the entire way through) as well as others that I can't think of right now. Oh! I love those funny 80's teen movies, like "Once Bitten" with Jim Carrey. I'll name more if it comes to me.

Favorite Television

I watch most shows on the movie channels. My favorites are: Bored to Death, True Blood, Shamless, United States of Tara, The Big C, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Hung. I watch a few other channels if there is nothing on the movie channels, but not very much cause I'm mainly a movie channel buff. Give me a good movie or a good show to curl up to. Oh and I suggest to get some wireless headphones if you have a spouse that can't sleep to the TV. or you have a hearing problem.

Crafts and Art = Love

I can go on forever with this section, but I'll try not to. I do all kinds of crafts, I love art as a whole. I really honestly can't pick a favorite thing to do. I paint, draw, do ceramics, color, pastel, origami, sew, wire wrap jewelry (which I sell), mix media art, knit, crochet, needle point, gluing, making stickers, wood carving, wood working, wood burning, photography, rubbings, stamps, collage, paper mache, puppet making, story writing, calligraphy, pop up books, sidewalk chalk and other things that I can't think of right now. I get so stuck on one thing that I'll sometimes forget about other things that I could excel in a lot better. I'm really A.D.D. when it comes to sticking to one kind of art, cause I'll be making something and then something else will come to mind and I'll start doing that and completely forget about the other things I was doing and not do them for awhile. I don't mind though, cause I will always go back to whatever it was that I was doing and continue to try to better myself with each pass. Like I said in my main profile, I will do art until I'm blind and can't move anymore. You should see all the crazy websites I've favorited so that at some point I will have something to do and something new to learn and carry on into other projects. My life is just one big continuous art project that will never be finished. So I love art supplies, anything that I can use for art. Ribbons, buttons, punched out stars, or glitter star confetti...anything and everything art. Unused paints, or brushes, colored pencils, clay, or whatever. BEADS! I can't forget how much of a bead collector I am. I also love rocks of all kinds, mainly pretty colored ones. I use them to wire wrap. Any type of pretty gem stones or crystals are wonderful! I love lampwork beads too. Glass beads or glass anything is awesome!

PeggyO on Mar 29, 2012:

Hi, Ashley, I'm getting ready to make your animal ATC and would like you to choose your most favorite animals so that I can create a card that really works for you!

I love nearly ALL animals, but my most fave are big cats, especially lions and tigers, and still hope to pet one before I'm gone.

Meanwhile, I substitute cats and have three, as well as a German Shepherd. I'd dreamed of having one since I was about 10 yrs old. I finally was able to adopt one from the German Shepherd Rescue group here in Houston. She and her 3 sisters were put in a box and left in the woods by the breeder who didn't like their markings! A neighbor found them and got all of them to the rescue group. All four were placed in good homes! YAY! Our Bailey is so beautiful, even if not the perfect shepherd markings, and she is so gentle and loving with us and our two grandchildren; they've both LOVED her sloppy tongue kisses since they were infants lying on a blanket when she found them. They come to spend Fridays with us, and she waits and watches at the front window for the car to pull into our driveway and then goes wiggly, waggly crazy, telling us they have arrived!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your favorite animals to help me make an ATC that is perfect for you!

Fondly, PeggyO
