I'm a middle-aged woman, living with my partner of 12 years in a small English village. I have one son, aged 28, and two "step sons" who are 16 and 20... I'm surrounded by males!

I love papercraft, card-making, stamping and painting. I'm a mosaic artist. Although there are no young children or babies in my family, I enjoy crocheting baby items - being small, they are quick to complete! Occasionally I crochet items for myself. I am involved in amateur archaeology, love architecture, and participate in charity work sometimes.

I live in a rural area and love walking in the countryside. In the autumn, a group of us get together to forage the hedgerows for blackberries, wild damsons etc which are then used in baking and to make home-made liqueurs and cordials.

I'm a Buddhist. I am not keen on receiving any overtly religious swaps.

I love Celtic music, especially ceilidh. Siouxsie & The Banshees, Tenpole Tudor, Billy Idol, and old Motown are also amongst my favourites.

War and Peace, anything by Ken Follett, all of Jane Austen, Solzhenitsyn's Cancer Ward. I don't have as much time to read right now as I would like.

I collect antique books. My oldest is a small obstetrics/gynaecology manual from the 1770s.

Gladiator, Bladerunner, Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Age of Innocence. My Left Foot, Gone With the Wind, Rebecca.

I especially like period movies and almost anything with Maggie Smith and Judi Dench in it.

The Good Wife, historical documentaries, Downton Abbey, Doc Martin, Game of Thrones, Grand Designs, River Cottage.

I'm obsessive about current affairs and can't go a day without watching the news at least once. But I don't generally watch a lot of TV.

Good home-made items. Traditional art and design and impressionist art. Innovative crafting and ideas. Colours: muted, pastel, metallic eg gold, silver, copper. Landscapes. The beauty and evolution of language. Exercising - elliptical machine, jogging, cycling. Bread-making. Old lace. Composting and recycling. Steampunk/Victoriana. History. Vintage clothing and accessories. Cooking and very healthy eating. Architecture. Jack Russell Terriers. Gardening. Nature. Portraits. Crochet: intricate designs and stitches, traditional, fine to normal yarns (UK 4 ply and Double Knitting). It's rare that I use chunky yarn. I love the 1940s/1950s crochet patterns. Any type of glasswork. Anything gilded. Mosaic.

Rushed and sloppy crafting. Neon or fluorescent colours. Very modern art and design. Items made in chunky yarns. 1970s/hippy style crocheting and clothing. Sorry, I'm not a cat or horse person... mainly because I'm allergic to them!

Paper-making. Collecting garden seeds and heritage seeds. Glass-making.

I often use recycled padded bags to send out items and I hope you won't be offended if your package arrives in something that is less than mint condition!
