SWAPBOT IS THE BEST!
I always send and I always rate. If it's been awhile, please give me a poke. Sometimes things get busy around here; however I want it to remain fun for you and for me. First check below though as I have a couple of PC's that I can't identify the swap.
I work hard to fulfill the requirements of each swap and make my partner happy. I'm not that artistic or crafty but I appreciate and admire the work of others. I love to dabble myself.
My children are grown and I'm reaching [okay, HAVE reached!] "mature" age. I have 7 grandchildren.
I live in Virginia, but I have traveled and I love postcards from other places. Love to read genre fiction. I'm also a writer of romance.
I enjoy Geocaching, reading, watching TV, and a little bit of exercise now and then.
I am a Christian but I am tolerant of other peoples beliefs. I enjoy learning about other cultures.
NO food or beverage items please. Don't want to put my issues on your shoulders.
Colored felt-tip pens and markers
Pens of all colors
Owls, butterflies, birds, hot air balloons.
steampunk stuff
decorative paper and stickers.
Handmade crafty or art-y items, like ARCs, Fantasy art.
I appreciate humorous references to the passing years, like the Maxine greeting cards.
Handmade soaps.
Favorite colors: different shades of red, earthy tones. Bright, bold colors.
Postcards (see below)
Unusual/beautiful bookmarks.
Pretty notecards and paper.
Personal anecdotes and stories, either on a postcard, note card or just stuck in with another swap. I like learning about people.
Journaling
Origami is cool. I just discovered an interest in it.
Interesting jewelry. But I DON'T have pierced ears.
"Zetti" art! It's based on the art of Teesa Moore. I've seen bookmarks, postcards, atc's, dolls, etc made by people on Swap-bot.
The following things will be RE-gifted: :( - Kawaii - Hello Kitty
Lately I've had a few partners express confusion over postcards I've sent from my town. I live in a city called Newport News, with a population of about a quarter million. It's said the city got its name when Capt Christopher Newport finally got his settlers to land, they were so happy they called the place Newport's (Good) News. It is highly military-industrial with half-a-dozen or more military bases and a huge commercial shipbuilding industry. We are also right on the ocean. The surrounding area is full of history and I often send cards from those sites as well. But if you get a card depicting "Newport News" know that's the name of a pleasant little city. I buy cards at the local visitor's center and the Hallmark store. I hope you'll enjoy them in your collection.
I love all kinds of postcards. Beautiful , unusual, touristy, funny, homemade, vintage... The list goes on and on. Any size or shape. In an envelope or "naked", I'm not particular.
I'd like more 'artsy' and unusual postcards. Something not touristy even though I like those too. Just haven't been getting enough of the other.
I'm not crazy about Hello Kitty. Also I don't like rodents: rats, mice, squirrels, other small furry animals like that.
I'm looking for some cards with the State name in big letters. Except CA Looking for more map cards too.
Cards from outside the USA are always welcome!
Contemporary romance.multicultural romance. SF. Fantasy. Thrillers and suspense.
Managing and succeeding in home business. How to books on writing.
I'm a writer of fiction romantic and speculative. I have several blogs and a website
Empire Sleepy Hollow Person of Interest Walking Dead Scandal Orphan Black, Survivor American Idol So You Think You Can Dance 'Real' courtroom shows, esp. People's Court and Judge Mathis Star Trek: Voyager, Bones,
some other reality shows Game shows
I've been a swap bot member since Dec 2008 and it has been a great experience for the most part.
I strive to fulfill the expectations of each swap I enter. If you don't feel that I have complied, please send me a PM and I'll try to work it out with you. I NEVER 'expect' a heart. It's pleasant to get one but I do this for the fun of swapping.
By the same token, I give out Hearts when I feel especially heartened (pun intended! grin) by the gift. Giving you a five means that I appreciated your gift and I was happy to receive it. PLEASE don't question my reasons for not giving you a heart! My reasons are my own and do not reflect on you or your offering. According to the rules of Swap-bot, no one can EXPECT a heart.
I love swap-bot and hope this won't keep me out of any swaps.
IDENTIFY PLEASE \\Got a postcard picturing Nashville. No swap name, and the signature is covered with the postmard stamp. Let me know if it's yours.\\
/// I got a nice envelope of goodies from someone containing ephemera, stickers and a zine. However, there was no swap ID or name. Please let me know. I'll got through my swaps to see if I recognize it but if I'm late in rating, that's why. ///
