I live in rural NY with my husband. I have lived here forever. I have a 5 year old daughter - Aubrey, who is my whole world. I never knew being a parent could be all of this... It is the best thing I have ever done and some days the most challenging! She is outgoing, loving and usually sweet (she has her moments though). She loves everyone and everything. She also loves country music and sings along to songs I don't even know the words to yet! Her favorite things right now are Cinderella (she loves dressing up in her "princess" dress and "heel" shoes), Barbie, Tinkerbell and any kind of animal.
I work part time and do a little dog grooming on the side. We live in the country but I wouldn't say the "boondocks", some might think so but it's not that way to us. There are a lot more remote places than here! We have dogs, cats and horses that keep us busy on top of yard work, and family get togethers.
I like to read when I can find the time , take walks in the evenings, and listen to music.
I like to be outside - weather permitting which is hit and miss around here. But when I can, I work in my flower beds and have a few small water garden ponds that always need some kind of work.
I like country music mostly and occassionally soft/old rock.
This is just general info ... I'm pretty easy to please when effort is put into something. I realize not everyone's skill level is the same and that's part of the fun....seeing what other people are doing. But I also think you can tell when thought and effort are put into something, versus just being thrown together.
I don't really have a favorite color. I like them all I guess. If I had to pick I guess I would say reds, and soft greens, maybe oranges, teal ...
I like country theme stuff...Chickens, roosters, old barn things. Outdoorsy and nature stuff. I like wild birds, especially cardinals. Not really into very modern things.
I like card making and bookmark making. I like to use buttons, ribbons, other embellishments, Prima (or that type) flower and there are so many cool card stock patterns!
I have recently been trying to teach myself how to crochet! So any pointers or tricks of the trade will be gladly accepted! My daughter had a blanket made by a relative when she was a baby and it is pretty tattered now so that was my inspiration to learn something new!
I also love chocolate! With peanut butter, without, with nuts, without, or with both together, whatever. I like fruits or mint too....Most any kind except white and dark are not my favorite, and no coconut.
I love the beach and the sun. I've always liked the water...it soothes and rejuvenates me.
I read mostly fiction. I like things from Oprah's book club...that type of stuff. Once in awhile I'll read a history type book about slavery,or living in the past (Civil War era), but still it is usually fiction. I read to relax and I don't want to have to keep track of a whole bunch of characters or foreign places. But, I want a little substance...not just basic or simple. I like Jodi Picoult. Recently read "Magic Hour" by Kristin Hannah and liked her. I loved "The Virtuous Woman" from Oprah's list a long time ago. I liked "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven".
