Hello. I'm Leelen and I am a new mamma of a five month old boy and I just turned 41!!! Wow! Feeling so blessed. Currently We live in Cleveland, Ohio, but I will be moving to Florida in the fall. I have been a licensed massage therapist as well as a usui reiki master for about seven years now. I enjoy helping folks facilitate their journey on the healing path, it is nourishment to my soul and I find that it has helped me grow and heal myself.
I have been drawn to crafts since I could hold a crayon. Growing up I always looked forward to arts and crafts classes be it in school, Girl Scouts or summer camp. I spent many hours fumbeling with fabric at my mom's old featherweight singer sewing machine creating clothes for my dolls. It wasn't until I was about 19 years old that I was introduced to bead weaving at my first rainbow gathering in Vermont. A hippy brother named Collecter Dan taught me how to make lattice netting over a small vial of patchouli and I was hooked. A couple years later, my boyfriend taught me peyote stitch beading and the serious love affair with seed beads began. I enjoy creating medicine pouches and necklaces with seed beads, pearls, shells, crystals, semi precious stones etc.
I also enjoy creating with clay. I took a few ceramics classes in college and was told by my instructor that I belonged in sculpture class. I haven't had access to a ceramic clay studio for awhile so I began creating with Fimo and Sculpey. I make all kinds of creatures, flowers, trees etc. they typically end up being pins and occasionally do mixed media jewelry with them as well.
Felting is another favorite medium of mine and I am just beginning to attempt to wet felt hats. I also enjoy creating wallets, pins, purses etc from upcycled wool felt I rescued from thrift stores. i love to embellish them with applique and crewel embroidery (another favorite hobby). I enjoy sewing and modifying, embellishing gently ised clothing. I started to get interested in wet felting after allowing my hair to dread naturally and now they are a force to be reckoned with as they have grown down past my butt. Lol!
I guess you can tell I love hand made goodies and they are all the more precious to me when I can make a trade for them. I am somewhat of a free spirit and I enjoy traveling, camping, building fires, drumming, dancing in the moonlight. I try to play guitar and have written a handful of good songs, I love singing and harmonizing with my boyfriend Laughing Deer who is also the father of my son.
