UPDATE: I'm visiting relatives across the country sadly, their internet connection is pretty slow. So, I'll try to get on as often as I can, but don't worry if you haven't heard from me. As soon as I get back to civilization I'll be catching up with all email.
I'm a very girly but pragmatic person. I like things to be simple, but multi-functional.
I'm a Mom, and a homemaker.
I enjoy things most people find boring like cooking, cleaning, chasing kids, cats, knitting, playing video games...
I have purple hair and tattoos.
Pink is my favorite color.
I'm a big eco-nerd/hippy at heart. I use reusable shopping totes, I ride a bike or take public transport when I can, I compost...
I'm big into the "old-fashioned" ways things were done before all the chemicals and poisons. While not exactly "mod" or "retro", I do enjoy a bit of vintage and kitcsh.
I'm currently adjusting to a somewhat more restrained lifestyle thanks to multiple illnesses and medical conditions.
So, while normally I would craft in any medium, I've been forced to pull back to things I can mainly do while sitting or laying flat. (I save my upright energy for housework and kids-lol!) This has, of course, caused me to rediscover my love of the handwritten letter, journaling, and other means of contact with the outside world.
I've also picked up knitting with a passion that I didn't know I possessed. It's the perfect portable craft!
I'm expecting another child, so I've also got all the household crafts bubbling away again as I attempt to "green up" my home a little. I'm all about cloth diapers, breastfeeding, sewing and knitting my own baby items.
On days that I do get the energy for crafts, I enjoy cooking, baking, paper-crafting, painting, sculpting, jewelry making, and well pretty much anything that might leave a stain! My husband gifted me with my own art studio and I'm looking forward to the day I can get back in there and get dirty. : )
I can't stand chick-lit.
There, I've said it.
I've always sworn up and down that there must be something wrong with me. I mean, I can get into a steamy romance novel and be done with it in hours, but it took WEEKS to force myself through The Devil Wears Prada.
That being said, I love classic literature from pretty much any country.
I really get into poetry.
I love dry and musty non-fiction books about the best way to prepare chicken in the seventeenth century.
I devour cookbooks.
And I've been known to adopt entire sci-fi and fantasy series.
But, I just can't get chick-lit.
I'm not horribly picky.
I'm allergic to gold and shellfish, so please, no shrimp chips or Long John Silver wrappers. : )
I am addicted to the written word. I love pens, paper, inks, etc. Kawaii is ok, I'm just not super into it. My kids tend to swipe most kawaii stuff the second it makes it into the house. I'm an organizational nut. Anything for organization will always wow me. Random recipe cards from supermarkets make me drool.
Yarn will always make me happy.
Anything eco-friendly will always make me appreciate you more! (Doesn't have to be "organic" can just be part of the whole reduce, reuse, recycle pledge.)
I'm really really not picky. I mean it. I've been happy with used postage stamps and a garage sale t-shirt.
