TLDR: I've always been curious about science, technology and nature. I love travelling, hiking while birdwatching and videogames. I really appreciate knowing more and more about different cultures. Recently started a post stamp collection!
Long version: I feel lucky I made my passion for technology become my job: I'm an engineer. The other passion, natural science, is one my greatest hobby.
I live in Turin, Italy. It's a city of roughly 1M people, vibrant in art, architecture, culture, events and social life. It was the first capital of Italy and it's one of the biggest city in the nations. Btw I was born in Calabria, in southern Italy. I love this region and I feel a strong sense of belonging. It's still full of traditions, with a lot of pristine nature in its wonderful beaches and in the 3 huge natural parks: Sila, Aspromonte and Pollino (the latter is the largest natural park in Italy). I love hiking on them when I go back to visit my family. I bring with me binoculars for birdwatching and my reflex to take pictures of animals and plants. When I'm in Turin, I do the same in the Alps. I love them especially when it snows.
Fun fact: in Calabria is too hot for snow (apart on some limited zones on the mountains) and it was just something happening in the movies, but this is not true in Turin! When it start snowing, I just grab some warm clothes and go out for a walk, happy like a child!
I'm an avid book reader and a fervent wine lover (I'm planning to attend the Sommelier course in 2022!) and I love cooking.
I recently discovered once again one of my childhood hobbies: stamp collecting!
It's difficult to tell which is my favourite book. I for sure loved Orwell's 1984, H.G. Wells books (in particular The Time Machine, The Invisible man, the Island of Dr Moreau and of course The War of Worlds) and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
I loved latin litterature, especially: "De amicitia" (aka "On Friendship") by Cicero, "De vita beata" (aka "On The Happy Life") by Seneca and "Metamorphoses" by Apuleius. I've still a lot to learn about this litterature, though.
I've also enjoyed Dostoevsky's The Gambler, The Idiot, Crime and Punishment and White Nights.
Last but not least: The Lord of The Rings :)
Also in this case it's quite difficult to make a selection, avoiding to add a long list of movies. I would select: Alien (all the series), The Lord of The Rings, Braveheart, The Gladiator, Star Wars (1 to 6), Disney movies (especially Mulan and Treasure Planet) and Studio Ghibli (my favourite: Porco Rosso, The Wind Rises, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away) and Your Name.
Not a huge fan of MCU or DC, but I really enjoyed "They Call me Jeeg" on the superheores' theme. Give it a chance!
