My name is Hannah, a nineteen year old Virgo. I was born in Adelaide, and moved to Boston when I was nine; we moved to Sydney seven years later. I'm a current student of Art History at COFA in Sydney, Australia. I like the clatter of teacups, the smell of raindrops on lush grass or hot pavement, the sweetness of melted chocolate, the warmth of long baths, the beauty of visual art. I love dinosaurs, birds, deer, love hearts, polka dots, stripes, pink, latte brown, olive green. I love vintage themes and child's toys. I love variety. I love to swap!
I'm also super approachable & very easy-going; these profiles always make me feel like I'm really pretentious, but I hope this helps with any info. you're looking for! :)
ARTISTS: Christo & Jeanne-Claude, Andy Goldsworthy, Yoshihiro Suda, Matthew Ngui.
MUSIC: Bjork, Joanna Newsom, Piana, Sigur Ros.
MOVIES: Elephant, Team America, Dancer in the Dark, Dude Where's My Car?
TV SHOWS: Scrubs, Psych, Growing Pains, Ugly Betty.
REASONS I LOVE WINTER MOST: Snow, all the shades of white, all the shades of grey, cold fingertips & numb nose.
Jewellery making -- there's three types of things I like to do: Charm bracelets, beads knotted along string, and button earrings.
Knitting & crochet -- I'm at a very basic level, scarves only ;) I want to be able to crochet my own blanket, though. I'm very sensitive to textures,
Embroidery -- I love stitching little scenes and things! Once again, I'm not very good at it, though; I need more practice!
Making stationary -- Envelopes and paper journals, that sort of thing.
Interior decorating -- I love to decorate my spaces, especially cheap ways of decorating my bedroom. Like I have paper umbrellas all over my bookcase and photos strung up on the ceiling -- both of which probably cost me $5 total, but it really transforms the room into my sort of area, very personalised.
I have pretty eclectic tastes -- I like almost anything, as long as it is well refined and thought out. Whether it's minimalistic, simplistic, bold & clean; or baroque, art nouveau, cluttered & curly, I just don't like raggedy edges that don't belong. Particularly with bright colours: fluoro and the like only work, for me, when it's very, very simple and clean. I dislike anything too (American) cartoony, scribbles and scrawls are not my styles. Teddy bears, unless they're vintage, can please go somewhere else. Pretty much anything is okay, if it's vintage! ;)
I'm working on creating a little scrapbook type things with my favourites and least favourite styles, so hopefully that will help :")
I do like 'kawaii'-style products, once again pretty much of any kind! Some of my favourite characters include nyan-nyan nyanko, wanroom, kogepan, and aranzi aronzo's assorted critters. I particularly like anything a little absurd -- dentistry, for example -- or with images of sweets and foodie things in the mix. I also love memo sheets (not the sticky-backed kind) and stickers from sacks.
I love the Japanese craft style. I actually admire most aspects of contemporary Japanese style (/design). I used to study Japanese language (in high school and for a year at university), the national aesthetic definitely contributed to my fascination for it.
Long letters, wooden stamps, charms for bracelets, buttons and beads, random swatches of fabrics, stationary.
I'm insatiably curious (/incurably nosy), & love love love to receive anything that screams "of the norm & the mundane" -- things like receipts, bus tickets, scraps of paper with grocery lists and telephone messages. If you have any, wrinkled and used, laying about, toss them in the envelope (instead of the wastebasket) & I will adore it :)
Anything I can pin up on my walls: postcards, random sheets of paper. Anything I can scatter on tabletops: knick knacks, statuettes, anything three dimensional (small or large).
I also love stamps, though I've never started a collection -- so if you have some extra groovy ones that you need to get rid of, feel free to clutter my envelope!
Also, some favourite motifs of mine are: Deer, elephant, whale, octopus, squid, owl, birds & bird wings, apples, pears, moths, maps, ghosts, bones, trex (!!), dinos of any kind, love hearts.
