Hello all! My name is Janie (please double-check when you are sending mail to me, I have had my name spell so many different variations and its very disheartening when I receive mail that doesn't even have my actual name spelled right on there), and I am from Texas, USA. I always try my hardest to get my swaps out by the deadline, but will always let you know if I may not be able to and will always keep you posted if it will be going out late. I prefer if my swap partners will do the same as well on keeping me inform. c: If you ever have any issues with a swap that pertains to me such as it never reaching you or you not receiving my part of the swap, please message me so we can work it out! I am completely cool if the person who is my swap partner sends their part of the swap a few days past the deadline, but it all comes down to C O M M U N I C A T I O N.
My most favorite color is pastel purple!! I also love pastel pink, pastel blue, honey yellow, mint green, Kraft brown and periwinkle colors too, but any color and shades of the rainbow will make me happy. Besides crafting here and there, I like to go on hikes with my boyfriend, going to the arcade, attending concerts, playing Bingo, exploring museums, and visiting places. I really love nature a lot- from clouds, to grass, and trees and flowers. I also have a thing for strawberries and blueberries. I like to drink a lot of boba, especially taro smoothie or matcha green tea smoothie. My favorite food is chicken, bun bo hue, and ramen. I like warm blankies, the smell of fresh laundry, looking at cute things, crafting, sleeping, bubble baths, and snuggles with my lover.
My favorite band is Coldplay, and La Bouquet, but I listen to all kinds of music except for country. Some of my other favorites artists and bands include Lorde, The NBHD, lovelytheband, Lana Del Rey, SALES, Childish Gambino, FMLYBND, Passion Pit, and Rihanna. I have pen pals that I send letters to, and I am also on Postcrossing. I am open to creating friendships and pen pals, so if anyone reading this is interested please message me. c:
I love everything stationery related, from paper(like onion skin, lokta, mulberry, old receipts, wax, parchment, super thin, old/dated, yellowed/brown, textured, ledger, grid), to washi tape, to stickers, and also small little knicks and knacks. Ephemeras, Dennison labels, tickets, railroad receipts, guest checks, used stamps, new stamps (any denominations), forever stamps, confetti, glitter, spangles, and stamps makes my heart jump! I would also love some address labels too if anyone knows how to make them or can teach me. Anything handmade or art made by you, I will treasure forever!
I am definitely a tea person. My most favorite is anything fruity, chai, earl grey, English breakfast, matcha/green tea, chamomile, but I am open to trying anything and everything! I would love to try many different kinds of teas around the world. c:
For postcards, I just ask for it to not be religious (unless it is related to Buddhism) or ad ones, but homemade ones are welcome c: I like ones that have bicycles, balloons, clouds, tea, dinosaurs, bunnies, turtles, cute and pink, bunnies, space, constellations, Northern Lights, or of umbrellas, and soft rainy days. It can be sent naked or in envelope, whichever is easier for you and will make it to its destination easily.
I am open to any sort of stickers or washi tape, but I would like to ask to NOT send me any planner/reward/kids/sports/functional stickers, or washi tape with the days of the week written on them. I like stickers that are more decorative, cute/kawaii (Cinnamoroll, Little Twin Stars, Korillakuma, any of the Japanese brands sticker flakes such as Crux, Q-Lia, Mindwave, Suatelier, or Jamjelly), San- X characters ( Rilakkuma and friends), Sanrio characters, Care Bears, Winnie the Pooh and friends, Lisa Frank, Strawberry Shortcake, pastry/dessert or tea theme, fruits, cute stickers of animals or food with faces, animals like bunnies or turtles, dinosaurs, woodland animals, galaxy-like(planets, constellation, astronaut, moon and stars), gingham/plaid, bows, rainbow, clouds, tree, leaves, nature, flowers, plants, washi stickers, typewriters, travel/adventure themed, air mail related, and vintage themed.
I like washi tapes that have crazy patterns and designs(example would be Chamil Garden), grids, vintage like, the cute characters I mentioned above for stickers, cute animals with faces, fruits, florals, typewriters, rainbows, dinosaurs, galaxy-like (astronauts, constellations, planets, moon and stars), bows, adventure/travel theme, air mail theme, and colorful. I just ask that they aren't planner related stickers, reward stickers, or tape with days of the week printed on it.
If anyone owns a typewriter out there, I would love to hear your story and how you went about finding one. I would love to get myself one but have no clue what to look for and how to know if it is worth what it is selling for. So anyone who knows the ins and out of typewriters, let's talk! Update: I bought a typewriter for $21, because I couldn't help myself! Still trying to learn more about it and how to use it.
I don't read as much as I used to, but my favorite book genre is YA. I also really like historical fiction, but it depends on what its about and what period and how the story is written. I'm not sure how to explain it, lol. I like well written books, romance, adventures, about love, ones that deals with Asian cultures, coming of age, LGBT subjects, spirituality, comedy/humour, memoirs, and family. I also really like books that have more than 1 perspective/ point of view in it, where each chapter is from one character and the next chapter is from a different character. A book made up of short stories in them, especially about love is my favorite too. I used to be a fan of fantasy books growing up, but not so much anymore. I'm trying to get more into chick lit, contemporary, and I guess adult books, lol. I'm just trying to expand my books into different genres and see if I will like them or not. My favorite authors are David Levithan, John Green, Jandy Nelson, Jenny Han, and Amy Tan. Some of my favorite books are How They Met & Other Stories, The Joy Luck Club, The Fault in Our Stars, The Book Thief, The Sky is Everywhere,The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Looking for Alaska, We Were Liars, The Chosen, and I am trying to re-read I'll Give You The Sun right now because I stopped midway a few years ago because it got so good and I didn't want to finish it. I know, I'm weird. I guess I just don't like things to end.Though I may like fiction books, I also like non-fiction books too. Books with poems in it are nice. c: I like the atlas one that shows you maps of the world, the ones that talk about people's cultures and history, and also their religion as well. I respect people's religions and what they choose to believe in or not believe in. I just find it very fascinating and interesting.
Please feel free to recommend to me or introduce me to new music, books (except for scary/monster/haunting things), tv shows, and movies! I am trying to get back into reading books and enjoying my down-time. If anyone is reading my profile and would like to get become pen pals, please don't hesitate to message me and talk to me! I enjoy reading letters and postcards I get, and learning about the writer through the medium of writing. I believe it is cathartic to just write and connect the old-fashioned way.
I have no use for page markers/tabs or sticky notes. I would prefer not to receive anything holiday theme (unless the swap I join specifically is for that or is a blind thing, but feel free to decorate the envelope however you choose cause I know some people may get inspired the by the holidays or is in a festive mood and I don't want to hinder your creativity! I just would like to not receive anything holiday theme) because I feel like I am only limited to use them when those times come around. And even though I say that, I would still be ok to receive some holiday theme stuff but only to a minimum. Here I go contradicting myself, lol. Seasonal autumn/fall though is totally fine though so that's the only exception! So for washi samples and stickers, I would prefer to receive those that pertains to my like, please. No words/quotes washi tape unless the swap specify for so, and no planner/reward/kids/sports/functional stickers either. Please make sure that these stickers and washi tape are sticky on the back/not running out of life. I like to decorate my mail with things I receive through swaps, and I have gotten some things that just don’t work right.
I do NOT like to receive anything with emojis, monsters, insects, anime or Pokemon things, mushrooms, snakes, spiders, rats, scary, horror, gore, nude, broken anything, religious related stuff (unless it is Buddhism) or drug related things.
PLEASE NOTE: I have asthma, so if you send me anything that may smell of cigarette smoke, or very heavy/musky smell of something such as mold or cleaning solutions, please air it out first or I might have to throw it away if its too strong for me.
