Hi there! I'm a 30 lesbian CADD major who lives in the Upper-Lower Peninsula of Michigan in the US.
I'm currently building my own tiny house to live and travel in while I work and pay off my student loans. I think sustainable living is really important, at least for me (I won't judge you haha), so I always thought a small mobile home that I can park anywhere for extended periods of time and move on would be great for me. It's been really hard downsizing in preparation, but I'm very excited for all the adventure it will bring me! I've already traveled across most of the US and to Japan, but I'm hoping to really sink my teeth into some Americana and meet amazing people on my travels (and maybe get into a little trouble, haha.)
I love thinking about fun things, like bigfoot and aliens, why it feels like another dimension sitting at an empty gas station in the middle of the night, and the wonders of an empty forest. Nothing overly poetic and nothing I truly believe in, but I love day dreaming and employing whimsical fantasy into my life. I love things that are delightfully macabre.
One thing I desperately missed out on was the written letter. I still receive the usual birthday cards and the like, but never really got into letter writing, since when I grew old enough to comprehend the wonderfulness of letter writing, we had already began moving to the digital age and email. I was at the crossroads between analogue and digital, so I yearn for penpals and surprises delicately sent in the mail between strangers. I'd love to get to know you.
I love macabre, strange, mysterious, colorful, dark, cheeky, and whimsical things. Not always at the same time, but also that would be kind of fun. I love floral prints a lot and geometric patterns. I'm not religious, but I love Catholic imagery because of how important it was to my grandmothers and great-grandmother (I have all of their rosaries and bibles.) I generally enjoy things that are a little weird, abstract, or out of the box (maybe a little cheeky, haha.) I'm also a big fan of horror or spooky imagery.
I love things that are deeply personal: secrets, loves, your sorrows and joys, I'd like things that feel like they have a little of your spirit in it. I'm not coming into swaps to have things all about me.
I'm mostly interested in pen pals, photos, handmade postcards, collages, deco books, and ATC
There isn't anything I really dislike, especially when its personal. I am however allergic to coconut and get sick with strong vanilla scents.
Honestly I will listen to just about everything and to list it all out in one spot would take forever. I am definitely not picky about music!
A lot of books I own are historical, informational, or general non-fiction. I collect terrible pulp scifi novels and anthologies from the 40s-70s, since everyone needs a little something trashy on their bookshelves, I think.
I particularly like non-fiction about strange things or alternate history no one talks about. I particularly suggest 'Good Time Girls of the Alaska-Yukon Gold Rush' if you want to know the history behind the West and how the Pacific Northwest blossomed due to the women who went there.
Pretty much any campy/terrible scifi or monster film from the 40s-70s I'm into. Also any creature feature I'll probably enjoy.
I don't really watch much TV (I prefer films) so a lot of my favorites are old.
Honestly I have way too many interests to be considered reasonable, so if you like something the odds are very high that I've at least tried it, am interested in it, and can connect with you on it on some level. I think my favorite hobby is new experiences.
