About Me

stamp stamp stamp

Hi there! I'm a 30 lesbian CADD major who lives in the Upper-Lower Peninsula of Michigan in the US.

I'm currently building my own tiny house to live and travel in while I work and pay off my student loans. I think sustainable living is really important, at least for me (I won't judge you haha), so I always thought a small mobile home that I can park anywhere for extended periods of time and move on would be great for me. It's been really hard downsizing in preparation, but I'm very excited for all the adventure it will bring me! I've already traveled across most of the US and to Japan, but I'm hoping to really sink my teeth into some Americana and meet amazing people on my travels (and maybe get into a little trouble, haha.)

I love thinking about fun things, like bigfoot and aliens, why it feels like another dimension sitting at an empty gas station in the middle of the night, and the wonders of an empty forest. Nothing overly poetic and nothing I truly believe in, but I love day dreaming and employing whimsical fantasy into my life. I love things that are delightfully macabre.

One thing I desperately missed out on was the written letter. I still receive the usual birthday cards and the like, but never really got into letter writing, since when I grew old enough to comprehend the wonderfulness of letter writing, we had already began moving to the digital age and email. I was at the crossroads between analogue and digital, so I yearn for penpals and surprises delicately sent in the mail between strangers. I'd love to get to know you.

Swap Interests

I love macabre, strange, mysterious, colorful, dark, cheeky, and whimsical things. Not always at the same time, but also that would be kind of fun. I love floral prints a lot and geometric patterns. I'm not religious, but I love Catholic imagery because of how important it was to my grandmothers and great-grandmother (I have all of their rosaries and bibles.) I generally enjoy things that are a little weird, abstract, or out of the box (maybe a little cheeky, haha.) I'm also a big fan of horror or spooky imagery.

I love things that are deeply personal: secrets, loves, your sorrows and joys, I'd like things that feel like they have a little of your spirit in it. I'm not coming into swaps to have things all about me.

I'm mostly interested in pen pals, photos, handmade postcards, collages, deco books, and ATC

There isn't anything I really dislike, especially when its personal. I am however allergic to coconut and get sick with strong vanilla scents.

Favorite Music

alt text

  • The Dead South
  • Harley Poe
  • The Kinks
  • Sonata Arctica
  • Tami Neilson
  • Rainbow Girls

Generic Genres:

  • Dark Bluegrass
  • Speed Metal
  • Punk
  • Dark Folk
  • Dark Synthwave
  • Retro Rock and Roll
  • Electro Swing
  • most music from the 20s-50s

Honestly I will listen to just about everything and to list it all out in one spot would take forever. I am definitely not picky about music!

Favorite Books

alt text

  • The Bell Jar,
  • Good Omens,
  • Tough Guide to Fantasy Land,
  • Ogre, Ogre
  • Good Time Girls
  • The Case of the Toxic Spelldump
  • Confessions of a Funeral Director

A lot of books I own are historical, informational, or general non-fiction. I collect terrible pulp scifi novels and anthologies from the 40s-70s, since everyone needs a little something trashy on their bookshelves, I think.

I particularly like non-fiction about strange things or alternate history no one talks about. I particularly suggest 'Good Time Girls of the Alaska-Yukon Gold Rush' if you want to know the history behind the West and how the Pacific Northwest blossomed due to the women who went there.

Favorite Movies

alt text

  • The Blob (original)
  • Alien
  • The Mummy
  • But I'm a Cheerleader
  • Halloween
  • 2001 A Space Odyssey
  • Akira
  • Creature From the Black Lagoon
  • Creep
  • Curse of the Man Who Sees UFOs
  • Ghost in the Shell (original)
  • Jurassic Park
  • Lily CAT
  • Moon
  • Memories de Katsuhiro Otomo
  • Paprika
  • Perfect Blue
  • Robot Carnival
  • Robot Monster
  • Starship Troopers
  • Trollhunter
  • This Island Earth
  • Train to Busan

Pretty much any campy/terrible scifi or monster film from the 40s-70s I'm into. Also any creature feature I'll probably enjoy.

Favorite Television

alt text

  • Star Trek the Next Generation
  • The Twilight Zone
  • The Outer Limits
  • Max Headroom
  • Kingdom
  • Stranger Things
  • Rupaul's Drag Race
  • Face Off
  • Murder She Wrote
  • Twin Peaks
  • The X-Files
  • Gentleman Jack
  • Swamp Thing

I don't really watch much TV (I prefer films) so a lot of my favorites are old.

alt text

  • Traveling to quiet or strange places
  • learning to play instruments (I'm really into the banjo and kalimba right now!)
  • festivals (Michigan Framily Reunion)
  • art
  • video games and game design
  • tabletop games (I love D&D and HeroQuest)
  • Geocaching
  • 3D printing and design
  • reading
  • sitting in the woods in a hammock doing nothing
  • re-teaching myself cursive (I'd love a practice penpal!)
  • embroidery
  • lockpicking (lol)
  • Listening to old scifi radio dramas while painting
  • Embroidery/cross-stitch

Honestly I have way too many interests to be considered reasonable, so if you like something the odds are very high that I've at least tried it, am interested in it, and can connect with you on it on some level. I think my favorite hobby is new experiences.

Comment: Thanks for the deco and extras. This is a challenging deco but I will try to do it justice. You must have had a fun grandma. Cheers! 💞

Comment: I received your grievances today! It seems post-secondary institutions here and there have a lot in common.. the amount of times they tried to over-charge me was unreal.. and then when they do, they expect you to wait forever until they put the money back - if you owe them money though, it has to be paid this instant. Haha I also know the pain of restaurants getting my food wrong. I order vegetarian/vegan versions of things all of the time, which typically just requires them to leave the meat off of things, and they always put it on anyway.. now I'm in the habit of checking my food before I leave or complaining right away if it's delivery. It does indeed sound as though Mr. Post-Beard could be conspiring with the school and the restaurant.. don't you love how life feels that way sometimes? Haha
