I was a mechanical engineer by trade but now I make jewelery in my spare time.
in my spare time I collect , repair and drive Vintage VW's (the real ones and fake ones!) but am artistic and love to create!
I have an eclectic mix of hobbies and am an extensive crafter: quilting, embroidery, Ukrainian egg decorating, soap making (lye based old school), fabric arts, painting, drawing, jewelry making...and much more.
Im really into calligraphy with real pen nibs and ephemera from the past.
Artistic: I love Mexican- Day of the Dead stuff, VW and or mechanical art (it's art to me!) Vintage girlie pics (I paint), I am really in to bees and I have pet tarantulas, so non-halloween-y insects are cool.
I am not a prude so I will doubtfully be offended by anything you send me. On that same token, sometimes I don't know where that line is drawn...so please forgive if I crossed it slightly. I am open to suggestions if we are swap partners. Please let me know if you have a preference to something!
Religious/ moral: raised pagan, practicing atheist/ pagan with a keen interest in Catholic art and symbolism. Jewish by certain heritage and proud.
Music: I love opera, obscure alternative, metal, german industrial, old school jazz...anything different you can introduce me to is cool. I am originally from Nova Scotia, so music from the Maritimes and Newfoundland is nostalgic (Irish Celtic) I am open to music but am not at all into new country or christian rock... At all.....
-Everything I craft is handmade. -I love craft books, vintage math, physics and mechanical textbooks and old portraits (photographs). -I am very into entomology so anything regarding farming, apiculture or anything technical is welcome.
I put 100 percent into anything I make for you and I expect the same. If I am going to run late (hey, it has been known to happen...we all have kids, households to run and lives to lead) I will email you. I really hope for the same. Nothing is worse than working on a craft for 4 days and not getting something in return....well, there are worse fates but it still sucks.
I love swap bot and have had great luck thus far, but understand there are plenty of people that "flake" like cans of cheap tuna on here. If you are one of them, please let your conscience be your guide and refrain from being my swap partner....... Thanks.
-Tarot cards, -vintage beekeping books -Anything Beekeeping related -Anything Volkswagen -Sewing patterns from the 40's and 50's (any size) -Embroidery patterns -Saris -Sari fabric pieces -Realistic fake food -Old junk jewelery (send it my way!) -Old rosaries -Catholic art -Day of the Dead art
Dislikes -real food -Stickers
The kindness of others (or lack thereof) has never ceased to amaze me. I am so grateful for everything I get on here. Thank you in advance for the time and effort it took you to make and send your swap. That said, if you have a problem with something I sent you, could you -nicely- send me an email instead of ripping me to shreds on my timeline? I would appreciate the civility.
This, after the christmas card fiaso of 2014, where some of my handmade cards weren't good enough for some of my fellow swappers. No biggie. I will try better next year!

Wow, you're such a crafter! Ukrainian egg decorating and soap making sound really interesting. I always wanted to make my own soap, but never could find enough time to learn. I too, like Day of the Dead aesthetics, so I thought to post some cute pics on your profile:
Here is my favorite song
Hello! From your profile I gather that you are very interesting and unique. I TOO love insects (and arachnids) and used to think I wanted to be an entomologist. For 12 years I worked at a nature center teaching kids about plants and animals. We had tarantulas, giant hissing cockroaches, and scorpions. I was stung once by a scorpion (not a dangerous one). I loved holding all of these creepy crawlers, especially because the kids were so impressed, they thought I was the coolest :) Here are two of my favorite songs for you!
