hi. my name is sarah. i am a craft junkie.
on a side note, my husband is in the us army and we are currantly stationed in germany. i have a APO and a physical address which allows me to participate in both international only and us only swaps! if you are in the us send to the first line in my address book which is the APO. It is just like sending something within the US. and if it's an international swap send it to the 2nd address. lucky me!!! pm me if you have any questions about that. and sorry if it confuses you.
i love creating things. my mom taught me how to sew when i was 8 and i have been sewing since. but i like to make anything, and have the supplies to do just about anything. my "craft room" is a small closet off the living room that i spend a lot of time.
i enjoy flee markets, junk sales and finding a good deal. i also like to repurpose furniture and make anything useful. i have a small collection of vintage suitcases, vintage picnic baskets, and mail boxes.
can't live with white walls, the living room is a nice coco brown and the bed room apple green number 5.
i have been married for 10 years to a wonderful man, we can hardly believe that it's been 10 years! i think we're starting to get old:) in a good way. we have 4 kiddos ranging from 9 to 2. the first letter of each of their names spell the word nest. our nest is full!!
Sewing~ i love quilting. and i adore my pfaff sewing machine. it sews like a dream, and has never led me astray.... until we moved to Germanu and now it's at the shop because stupid me plugged it into the wrong outlet. what a sad story. i enjoy every part of quilting from the choosing of the fabric to the piecing to the quilting to the binding it up. not to brag, but i am pretty good at free motion quilting and enjoy not only quilting my own quilts but others too. i reciently learned how to needle turn (applique) and have almost completed a beautiful folk artish pillow.
Mixed Media- have dipped my finger into some college stuff and really enjoy altered art and all kinds of college. love love love anything mixed media as long as there it's not a bunch of stickers slapped onto something:)
Beading / Buttons~ i have a nice little collection of both and like sewing them onto anything that will have them
ATC~ Last year while my husband was over seas i joined a yahoo group and began trading cards. there was a bit of disappointment when the work i put in was not recipracated. I do still enjoy making them, but don't make them as often.
Punchneedle~Have finished several little wonders, and have a large one in the works now.
Dottie~ I did make one, but she didn't turn out very well. I need to have another go at that.
The Office is so funny, i think everyone has known someone like one of the characters on that show. it makes me laugh every thursday at 8. other than that i'd rather be crafting, but more likely i'm cleaning up someone's mess.
I love things that are practical. love most vintage.
reusable bags
100% cotton (love moda)
thread
buttons regular buttons are good, but something a little unusual is great
ribbon
note cards
could use a few nice pens
magnets
i don't have a favorite color, but i do love most polka dot stuff
a pair of knit gloves with the cut off fingers i don't remember the name of those (i've got xs hands)
croched washcloths
flavored black tea
hot chocolate
chewy candy
not for me:
cartoonish things or disney not a huge fan of yellow, but in small doses it's ok, i like black, but not gothic or anything evil, i'm not a fan of the dark side, don't care for things with hearts all over them oh yes and NO stickers please....
