46-year-old physicist, tarot reader, and Wiccan priest. Love fantasy art and ATCs. Cooking and gardening are my favorite hobbies. I am blessed with a wonderful 12-year-old daughter and an extraordinary life partner and friend (animalchatter). We were married July 29.
I'm a vegetarian, and feel a spiritual connection with all living things and with the planet and the cosmos. I strive to live in awareness of all other things and approach them with respect, understanding, and joy.
I work as a scientist, in the field of radiation protection. I'm also a sprititual teacher, tarot reader, and astrologer. I've put a lot of attention into learning how to live a richer and more loving life.
Some likes: mythological themes, plants, animals, magical themes, symbolism, past eras (Renaissance, medieval, antiquity), nudes, gods and goddesses, earth tones, moon, stars, autumn and winter, maps.
Some dislikes: "cute", commercialism (magazine images, etc.), political agendas.
I don't do much collage or make use of embellishments, so if you like to send such materials as extras, someone else will probably appreciate them more than I will.
I grew up devoted to Simon and Garfunkel, then discovered Bob Dylan, Queen, Rush, The Beatles, Dire Straits, and Kate Bush. At the moment, I've been mostly listening to Dar Williams, Paul Simon, Kate Bush, Sting, George Harrison, and Loreena McKennitt.
Favorites are the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter series, most anything with Johnny Depp. Some random movies I remember especially liking over the years: Harold and Maude, The Sixth Sense, Being There, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Ladyhawke, Gandhi, Chocolat, and The Matrix.
I don't watch TV, but sometimes rent DVDs of good TV shows. I like nature documentaries, Star Trek, Northern Exposure, X Files, cooking shows, Simpsons.
ATCs, softblock printing, drawing, painting, calligraphy. I'm more of an artist than a crafter, I suppose. I've always imagined being a fantasy artist or illustrator, and in recent years have used my art to express my spirituality. I keep coming up with ideas for tarot decks that I never seem to finish.
I mostly swap ATCs here, although I've dabbled in a few other kinds of swaps too. For me, it is about the fun of creativity. I love to see what other people make and send, but I swap to create things more than to receive things. Hence, I'm not too focused on ratings, hearts, etc. I just make sure I fulfill my committments. If you haven't gotten something from me, please PM about it first - I'll be happy to make things right.
I like all kinds of ATCs, and am not judgmental - they are all fun to see and collect. I've been trading ATCs for about 10 years now, and I've seen a lot of diversity in that time.
I don't like negativity - I avoid swaps where people seem to have a pet peeve about something and use a swap to express that. I also don't like swaps that are restrictive to the point of paranoia; it's more important to me that new people feel welcome.
Making art and sending it out into the world is a way to be creative and have fun!

I didn't even know anyone else knew about Dar Williams. She was very important to me as a teenager. Lots of late nights listening to her in the dark :)
