Here in England this quirky vintage lady can be found; admiring the beauty of life wherever I find it from glorious sunrise to sweeping sunset; shopping to the beat if my song comes on in the supermarket; cat snuggling (sadly lost my Tuxedo boy 30th Sept '22) but will fluff the cheeks of any willing floof; animatedly expressing the magic & wonder of Christmastime with a childlike heart; going starry-eyed over glittery, sparkly things; dreaming of living in a country cottage; smelling the English roses, and being generally cheerful.
I enjoy: walking in nature; exploring the coast & countryside; losing myself in bookstores and pages of books; perusing cabinets and shelves in curiosity/antique shops; exploring historical buildings; ordering hot chocolate, cheese toasties or cake in cosy coffee shops; visiting tea rooms and cafes.
I'm into: books (paper not digital); journalling; mixed media; water colours; fountain pens & inks; stationery esp. from Japan & Far East; Regency & Victorian Eras; Vikings; vintage/antiques; and I'm a bit of a Cookie Monster especially for Viennese biscuits! I'm fascinated by old-fashioned language, stories, customs and folklore.
I have a passion for mixed media, watercolour, and line & wash but am at the splashes and scribbles stage! Swatching inks/paints in itself is relaxing so there is always that...
As a young lady I often felt I was born in the wrong era, and still do! I have since been an avid consumer of period drama/film and books. Jane Austen remains a firm favourite. I would love to exchange letters in character of the Regency/Victorian era, perhaps I will find a use for my wax seals here...
I like to use dip/glass pens, fountain pens (mostly Sailor and Ferris Wheel Press), a vintage typewriter, and an electric typewriter.
I mainly journal these days - both art dabbles and writing - and have several on the go in different styles. I like anything that can be used for journal decoration.
I love Japanese, and more generally, East Asian pens, washi, stickers, and paper.
My favourite themes are vintage, pretty or cute styles.
Fountain pen ink and watercolours, notebooks & journals.
I enjoy quotes, sayings, anything positive, interesting facts, customs & folklore, funny stories, and to be given the gift of a glimpse into someone else's life/world.
Alice In Wonderland. I love Claymation like Wallace & Gromit, Mary & Max. Snoopy/Peanuts.
Periods such as Regency, Victorian, etc. Vikings & Norse culture.
I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction. A few fav authors: Jane Austen, Stacey Halls, Philippa Gregory. Anything such as The Diary of an Edwardian Lady is an absolute joy to me!
Mixed media, watercolour, line & wash, illustration - there is so much to like!
I like the smell of anything sweet, fruity, or flowery. I love strawberry - the smell & taste.
Tea and hot chocolate are my journal companions. Love teacups too!
Cats, always.
