If you got me as your sender, please expect your swaps to be postmarked ~around~ the date shown when I press 'sent'. It's most likely not the exact date shown in the postmark. Please be patient. Also, if you got me as your partner, expect your ratings later on. Thank you.
My name's Tinang (pronounced TEEN-nahng), or Tin. A nickname of a nickname. My full first name is Cristina, but I hate being called that. I'm multiracial: quarter white, quarter Spaniard, and half Asian even though English, and even Spanglish in a few occasions, was mainly spoken at home growing up.
I work at a Construction firm in Washington, DC. It's my second year on the job. I like the paced work that goes with it. I used to work as an on-call Science tutor for middle and high school students down at northern Virginia for 5 years.
I am ambiverted: while gentle, if you talk to me and get along with me well, I have the greatest amount of stories of my life to tell! I love being determined, so I truly believe that a true-hearted ambition will lead to a good fate. It's all worth fighting for!
I'm quite the color and photo freak, so I like any topic that pertains to color and photography. I also like watching indie films, shows and Originals in Netflix and Hulu equally.
~ Any hands-on and visual activity makes me happy. ~
I play video games and online games in my free time. I, too, appreciate the visuals and the art that go with the games. I've gotten into Fire Emblem and Overwatch lately because of my cousins. I'm not as good as them, admittedly, but I reached Silver rank for the first time. I like anime online games more except Skyrim and League of Legends.
I used to swim in my high school's swim team. I loved how heated swimming can get. I've picked up a lot of sports as a teen, so I'm very open on any new suggestions you may give me. My major injury on my left fibula when I was 19 hampered my chances of swimming competitively in college. It does not make me stop from trying new activities. The most exotic activity I've tried was sepak takraw. To be active, I take Brazilian dance, Zumba, and spin classes at my local gym. I have started to join KPop dance classes in my community, and so far, they are worth the challenge!
Because of my roundtrips to Asia in the last 6 years, I have a penchant on anything kawaii, Asiatic (culture) and anime. I developed my love of travelling, so I would appreciate suggestions on where to go in my next holiday.
I love fashion and beauty so much that I've started getting into K-beauty and reading Asian fashion magazines! I also love earring and nail art equally. I am keen on collecting face and eye masks.
postcards and cards
I collect postcards for 9 years and is still going strong. I'm a late bloomer at it, so I expect it to be a little more pricey than in the past when it was the the norm to send snail mail as means of communication. I wrote letters to my grandmother from Spain when I was a child. I still manage to influence my cousins, sister and brother to send postcards as a guilty pleasure a few years ago. Our collections are separate, though.
Please date your postcards. It helps me sort by chronological order for my card collection.
I collect real postage stamps (third-generation collector), so if you have any unusual or nice ones around, I'd highly appreciate if you use them! Don't mind about your country's meter strips either.
I prefer my postcards sent naked unless it's handmade and folded (envie, please).
I'm not too picky on postcards because I believe that you introduce another interest to some if you picked that topic you like yourself.
For non-touristic topics like art, I like cute over realistic if that gives you an idea on aesthetic. For touristic, I lean towards attractions and skylines over scenic.
I also collect coffee bags and tea bags equally as postcards and cards.
I'm seeking anything from your place!
I like mostly fruity, decadent (dessert), and floral tea. The type of tea doesn't matter although I personally lean towards white and herbal. I'm open to a lot of new blends, but I highly don't prefer plain tea, camomile, mint and earl grey.
Kind of seeking non-North American tea if you're from elsewhere internationally besides Canada. Like, don't send out American tea to me (say you got it in a swap) if possible, please. I'd like your country's, region's, or your continent's tea. This doesn't count Twinings, pukka and such brands found in the US. I acknowledge that there are different flavours of the same brand.
I'm seeking more of Harney & Sons tea bags. Had some while travelling on the road, but I haven't seen them since then. I like tasting their flavours.
Nail polish and beauty product brand preferences will be listed in the future
I share my PO box with my cousins. If you're waiting for a rating for some time, they've probably took their mail with my swaps. If that is the case then I'll probably attempt to contact one of them to intercept. The "interception" may take at least one week because I usually see them once per month.
My cousin usually writes out the addresses for me just in case you’re wondering about the handwriting differences. I find her handwriting to be more clearer than mine. In the past, two(!) postcard pals long gone called my handwriting ‘butchered’ and ‘outworldly’. That’s why I enlisted her help to partially alleviate my handwriting woes.
I will always resend. If you're not even satisified on what you received or you didn't receive my swap, just PM me and we'll arrange. Don't rate me a 3 or 1 at this point, please.
