I own a fabric and yarn shop in the Santa Cruz Mountains, California. I love making vintage-looking gifts for babies, felting handbags, quilting, knitting lace shawls, sewing long skirts and I never have enough time for all the crafts I want to do. I am getting into making softies (animals and monsters). I love vintage images, especially from children's stories.

10 things I like:

1. Denyse Schmidt, Amy Butler, Kaffe Fasset: these are 3 favorite designers, so anything related to them. 2.Vintage and vintage reproduction: fabric, images, cutesy goodies! 3.Yarn, but only large quantities of very high quality natural fibers, otherwise my stash gets huge and I end up giving it away.
2. Felt and other materials you can applique with.
3. Handmade: bags, softies, quilts, baby items (even though I don't have any kids).
4. Colors: I like combos like light teal and chocolate, rust and black, baby pink and green apple.
5. ALL things INDIA: Ganesh, Laxmi, Vishnu
6. BIRDS - anything with birds on it, postcards, jewelry, stationery
7. Buddha Bar type music - ambient/Indian classical
8. Smells: nag champa, jasmine, chai, anything that reminds me of Hawaii

I don't like: 1. mean people or anything that looks like something mean people would like. 2. dogs, I mean, they're OK... 3.cheap synthetic material or yarn of any kind 4. anything that you would eat or put on your body that has fake ingredients, like perfume or sugary candy 5.The 80's look -design or style or colors 6. Gaudy jewelry 7. Politics - I'll leave that to someone else.

All foreign romantic comedies and period pieces.

I don't watch tv, but I used to watch Knitty Gritty.
