We are Vânia and Margarida, two portuguese sisters of 28 and 35. We live in Faro, south of Portugal, where the sun shines most of the time and where the temperature never goes below zero.
We've always lived surrounded by crafts of all kinds. Our grandmother used to paint, crochet, knitt and cook and our mother has got "fairy hands" (if you know what I mean :-)
We love the sunshine and the days spent by the sea but when September arrives we start missing the rain and the cold days. It never snows where we live and the temperatures can go up to 40ºC during August
We like to learn new things and we are always trying new techniques. Nowadays we are more into fabrics but we've done felt, woolfelt, glass fusing, polymer...
We've just started learning quilting and patchwork techniques and we love the american fabrics and designers. I admit that although Amy butler is currently one of the most famous designers, she is not my favourite.
I like polkadots and gingham, stripes, florals and geometrics.
You can check our blog and our flickr to see exactly what we make.
Thank you for your time and attention.
