I'm a 25 year old college student, on her way to getting a BFA (two years), getting married (one month) and petting my cats (about thirty seconds).
I love colours; part of being an artist, I guess. I love jewel tones, they look good on me. I also love some pastels, like pink, sage, lavender and periwinkle. I also like earthy tones and neutrals. Honestly, the only things I tend not to like are garishly bright colours (pink and orange excluded) or colour combinations that don't harmonize well.
I tend to be on the liberal side of the fence, although libertarian might be closer to the truth. I am American, although I wish I could say that without wincing.
I'm Buddhist, but am not fanatical about observances. I grew up Episcopalian, and have friends of many faiths. I love learning about new religions and cultures. I'm somewhat of an armchair anthropologist.
Owing to the anthropology bent (and the fact that I"m a history minor) I tend to fall in love with cultures other than my own. Currently, these include Japanese (especially subcultures, like Geisha [I liked them before the movie!] and the harajuku park kids), Scottish (especially the time around the 1745 Rising; you know, Bonnie Prince Charlie), and Bedouin (Dude. They're fascinating).
I'm also a complete bibliophile. I've worked in three bookstores and a library in my time (that's out of six jobs in my life). I re-read books, because I read very fast and my money won't let me keep up my habit. I actually don't generally go to the library often, as I hate giving books back. I could go into my favorite authors, but that'd take too much space and this profile's long already.
I love things that are slightly offbeat, like Ani DiFranco and Regina Spektor. I am also a fan of classical music, and Broadway musicals. It's hard to say what I like, because music is such a part of my life. I tend not to like country (with the exception of John Denver) or rap (with the exception of "Jesus Walks with Me). Other than that, I'm open to it.
LotR, anything Pixar, Amelie, Lost in Translation, Shakespeare in Love, Pride and Prejudice. Most period dramas, actually. Most fantasy movies, too, although there is a sliding scale of "liking it because it's good" and "liking it because it's totally cheesy" that applies. Same thing with horror movies. I glory in bad B movies. Indiana Jones. The original Star Wars. Serenity. Sci-Fi in general, although the cheese thing applies here, too.
Buffy, Angel, Firefly. Joss Whedon is my master. I haven't seen Heroes, but I'm sue I'd love it (my fiance tells me so). Battlestar Galactica. CSI Vegas (David Caruso doesn't do anything for me). Anything true crime.
Spinning, when I have the time. Knitting. Making Kanzashi (the hair ornaments that geisha wear). Sewing, either real clothes, or historical costumes. Drawing, painting, generally all things art related. Journaling. Taking pictures.
