My name is Elizabeth. I'm 28 years old, married, mother of one, and living in Cincinnati, OH.
When I'm not working, I'm either knee-deep in fandoms or dressed in a dirndl. My interests are many and varied, but it's safe to say there is a level of geekery involved in everything I do.
I'm a member of a German cultural society, so most of my weekends involve schnitzel, accordians, and beer. More often then not, I'm dressed in traditional German garb (I own more dirndls than jeans).
I have a serious sweet tooth, and chocolate is always better than something without chocolate. I love old family recipes (anything I send in return will probably be 'from the old country'). I don't have any allergies (thank goodness), but I'm not overly fond of peppers and onions.
Local traditions and customs fascinate me. Whenever I travel, I try to pick up a local trinket (In Venice, it was glass. In Florence, it was leather. In Krakow, it was amber. You get the picture.).
If you read on, you'll realize that fandom is the biggest part of my life. If you visit my tumblr, you'll understand that it's (more than) slightly unhealthy. When in doubt, send me fandom related things. Even the tea I drink is based on fandom. I've identified as a Ravenclaw since I was 12 (which is longer than I've identified as anything else).
I listen to EVERYTHING (folk to pop to polka to punk). I love making mixed CD track listings, expecially when given a theme to stick to.
Favorites include: Frank Turner, Paloma Faith, Ben Marwood, The Tallest Man on Earth, Ed Sheeran, the Noisettes, Silversun Pickups, Katzenjammer, Cosmo Jarvis, Larry and His Flask, Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor, Marina and the Diamonds, Halsey
I'm always looking for new music. If you do nothing else but send me your favorite song lyrics, I'll be happy.
I read a little bit of everything, but I always wander the fantasy/sci-fi section of the bookstore first. I'm trying to go back and read all the things I was supposed to read in school (but never did, because let's be honest -- it's no fun if someone makes you read it).
Favorites include: Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, the Abhorsen Trilogy, the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, anything by Neil Gaiman
I read more fanfics than actual books these days, simply because it's easier to read on a computer screen at work.
My DVD collection spans a full wall in my living room, so there's no point trying to list out all my favorite movies here. I love period films, fantasy, sci-fi, Disney, and comic book movies. If I own one movie in a series, I have to own all of them (HP, LotR, PotC, Narnia).
I suppose my top three movies are Pacific Rim, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Kingsman, but if you ask me, I'll probably tell you something completely different.
Favorites include: Agent Carter, Daredevil, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, Sleepy Hollow, Downton Abbey, Firefly, So You Think You Can Dance, Gilmore Girls, Boy Meets World.
My netflix account gets a lot of use.
If you consider writing to be a craft, then consider me crafty. I like writing original fiction and fanfics, any length. Generally, if I send a letter to one of my penpals, I include a drabble or a ficlet of something I think they'll enjoy. A lot of what I write is based on songs, and I love challenges.
Every November I take part in NaNoWriMo (50,000 words in 30 days), so if I go missing for a month, that's why. I usually write science fiction or fantasy, but I've been known to throw in Harry Potter fanfiction when I'm down on my word count.
