Comment: Your journal was wonderful - I really enjoyed reading it - made me wonder what my partner will think when they read mine. Some of it was challenging, wasn't it? AND - your wrote that one of your fave movies was Ushpizin?? I loved that movie too. And you have an Israeli song on there too - I couldn't read the name of the artist - who was it? I listen to a lot of Israeli music and speak fluent Hebrew. This was a cosmic coincidence.
Response: It is either Amir Ve Ben or Holy Taya. I also love the Kol Cambridge podcast on TLV1, it is my workout music, LOL. And yes, I loved Ushpizin so much when I got it from Netflix that I had to buy it. That is rare for me but when I feel blue I just watch it and I feel better right away :D. I agree, cosmic coincidence! I don't know anyone who is interested in such things around here so it is so fun when I connect with someone.
Comment: I love your postcard! I'm going to use it as the center of a journal page. Thank you! And, thank you so much for joining the "movement". I doubt he will ever see any of the postcards, and if someone tells him about them, he'll tell everyone about how much fan mail he's getting. :-( But, it did make me feel a little better to voice my opinion, even if it'll land on deaf ears!
Response: I am glad you like it! It is from the cover of a magazine but I can't find it online so I scanned the card before I mailed it to you to use again. I think whoever made it should sell it! It is fabulous. Maybe all the cards will end up in the Smithsonian, LOL. I too doubt he'll see them unless they end up on Fox news or SNL.
Comment: I got my journal just now and it is beautiful! Thank you so much for taking the time to make it detailed and special. This is one of the best journals I've ever received! I read only 2 pages so far but I can't wait to go through it all page by page. Thank you so much!
Response: I am glad it arrived and you like it. I put a lot of work in preparing it and refused to start until 2017. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun too. Look at all that stuff! LOL!
Comment: Thank you so much for the darling Garfield PC! I get most of my PC's in the thrift stores and ministry re-sale shops. They need a little love too! You can't find PC's in Houston except ones for Texas and Houston.
Comment: swaps like these are the reason I love swap-bot...you have restored my faith in the swap-bot community, let's just say it was starting to look bleak for a minute. I absolutely love this PC!!!!!! it's too cute! i love it i love it i love it!! the colors, the theme, the shading, all done so well in my opinion.
I am new to watercolors as well, but I'm obsessed :) I will be hosting a number 2, I hope you join that as well. Thanks so much!!!
Response: I am so glad you like it!! Yay! I sure enjoyed creating it :D.
Comment: Thank you â¤Â¸â™¥â™ªâ™«*¨*•.¸¸⤠Love the flip flops!!! And specially how well you colored it!
We do have a winter here, although we might see snow only once per year, but this year has been totally insane, and it has been like spring!
Comment: oh hey, mustache on a box - that has got to be the coolest pizza brand around! Haven't seen it around here; is it local to WI? Cool swap, thank you!!
Response: It is Screamin Sicilian pizza. I see Meijers and Krogers carries it in your town. You can't miss it in the freezer section, craft cardboard box with a giant mouth on front. :D I use the whole box for upcycling :).
Comment: Hello Christine, i love the card you sent me. i found it very kool how you covered the back side of the card and that i was able to remove the label to read the stuff, very creative. i don't know wat is sketchbox but sound very interesing..Thank you
Response: Glad you liked it. Sketchbox is a monthly art supply subscription that I get. Every month they include one of those cards so now I can share them rather than hoard them! :)
Comment: You have no idea how excited I was to get this card. It has been at the top of my postcard wishlist for a while now. I LOVE IT. Thank you so much! I was vegetarian for 10 years before becoming vegan. Getting over the cheese hurdle was really tough, but I don't really miss much else. It requires far more label reading that vegetarian did though.
Response: I am glad you love it. It screamed "send me to Brian!!" :D Being in the cheese state, cheese is everywhere and it is sacrilege not to partake, LOL. It seems a lot of vegetarian recipes rely on it. I've made some nice recipes from the Dr. McDougall website and Forks over Knives. Good stuff for the most part. As a fall back there is always pea soup and roasted veggies :).
Comment: Hi Christine, we love the card of Fred Smith at Wisconsin Concrete Park. What an inspiring fellow. We did have a look at the web site and read the story, and even found some photo's buried in the web site. Thanks for bringing him to our attention. He had the right stuff. Raoul & Jeanette.
Comment: You are right about that quote, sometimes you just don't need a reason :) Don't worry about the face thing, there's so much more to this card than just that, and I thank you for your interesting postcard!
Response: I figured since it had a bit of a story you'd be ok with it. It is my favorite. I want to be like that when I grow up! LOL
Comment: Thank you for the winter hooters :) Christmas in Italy sounds quite fortunate. I visited Italy briefly for a college class. I can't imagine it's as entertaining as at Christmas time though, especially since it was a very academic experience.
Response: I am really looking forward to his full report. Right now I'm getting several daily snapchats which really make my days. And you are very welcome for the winter hooters, LOL. Love that baby, he's so cute!!
Comment: Thank you for the great postcard. You have the same type of New Year's Eve that I have every year. My husband and I stay home every year and I make a nice steak and lobster dinner. Then we watch movies until midnight. It's much better than going out with drunk people on the roads.
Response: That sounds great! I am up at 4am so midnight is a no go for me 😉.
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful PC! I loved all the layers. Just FYI, the map didn't finish the trip....I can see where it belonged, but it was not there...maybe next time put it in a clear envie with the stamps on the outside. Did you take a pic of it before you sent it? It was a great idea and I will use it for inspiration . Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: Oh shoot. I had it taped in. It was a business card type map from the Netherlands. Ok so try again another way, 😋. I thought of a sleeve but what fun is that?
Comment: Sorry to be rating so late. Your lovely lady got buried in my fettling room (or "atelier" as I try - but fail - to call it!). Thank you for sending me this beautiful image and for what you wrote.
Comment: What a sweet Adcard. Thank you Christine. Would be awesome to see a whale – well I once had the chance to see some dolphins, when I was in South Africa....What a thrilling experience. :) Have a great weekend. Smiles Joana
Response: I've never seen a wild dolphin either. Wow, lucky you! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you! The photos are beautiful. Just a note though, if you're going to be late on a swap, you really should only mark it sent after you've sent it. I appreciate you staying in contact about it being late though.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely letter! Are you a lefty? I am and I noticed the slant of your handwriting looked like you might be too. I don't know why, but I always like finding other left handed people.
Comment: Belated thank you for the stunning, colorful view of the Ice Caves of Apostle Islands card (I have never been and would love to visit in person), English Sundew stamp, and for sharing your summer favorites, Christine :) I also love fresh, juicy tomatoes and the extended daylight, but I can't wait to go running in cool, crisp weather again, and I like what you wrote about winter bringing its own beauty :) Happy first day of autumn <3
Response: If you go just be sure you can walk 2 miles on ice, LOL. They are a real treasure that can't always be seen every year so when it does happen it can be a madhouse!! Not like when I was a kid and we'd be the only ones there. Downside of the internet :).
Comment: Thank you for joining in and for the postcard! This is my first "American Girl" postcard! Thanks, too, for appreciating my blog. I don't blog as often as I like, but it's my happy place--there when I need it. :-D
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful, colorful, and exciting card -- I love that it combines flappers and cowboys :) It is perfect, since I am currently reading Fitzgerald's The Love of the Last Tycoon: A Western, which is all about the 1930s studio system. I love Dame Smith, too! I haven't seen all of Downton Abbey, but I've seen enough to know the Dowager Countess is the best. Lady in the Van is on my film watchlist! Hope you are having a good week <3
Comment: Thank you for the nice postcard! I feel your pain re: the weather! It's monsoon season here in my country and one moment it's raining hard the next the sun is brightly shining. Doesn't do much for the humidity, it's uncomfortable!
Response: Glad it made it safe. Wow I guess we all have our weather woes! It is the one thing we all share the same...weather!! :D
Comment: Thanks for the photos and album. Some of my Polish ancestry is from the Lublin, Poland region. The heart is for the decorated rooster envelope.
Response: Excellent! So a bit of "local" for you even if it is just because the Lublin's are sister cities. Not much here as you can see but the dignitaries came from Poland for the 100th celebration! There is a lot of pride in this tiny village.
Comment: I love when Scripture quotes pop into my life like this. I read your profile & looked at your blog. I like your sense of humor & your sketches. Do you ever get to deliver happy mail like ours to anyone else on your route?
Response: I'm glad you liked it. How can one deny something that is just saying make me! Once in awhile I do have some fun mail. Once I had a giant handmade postcard to deliver, it was full of weird writings on the back (yes I read them-ha) but hey, it was cool. Otherwise the Amish often use calendar photos etc. But I get the most fun mail. If it looks fun I assume it is mine and most the time it is. :)
Comment: I wish I could give you many more hearts! <3 Thank you for sharing with me your artistic talents, traveling, and reading experiences, Christine! I love your cat happily drowsing on books -- something I myself am guilty of on more than a few occasions ^_^;; Watercolor is also a medium I have admired (especially John Singer Sargent -- wow!) but have been afraid to try myself. My two kitties are also gently sleeping on this rainy afternoon. Both books you mentioned sound powerful and amazing -- I am humbled by Eva Kor's merciful attitude. I will have to pin your sweet watercolor kitty on my mood board :)
Response: Oh goodness, I am so glad kitty made it there safely. It was hard to put her directly into the mail but I just crossed my fingers. I am glad you like her :).
Comment: Thanks, Chris. I love your style, how you capture the curves of an arm with such a sure, single stroke. I love that!. Thank you.
Response: I am learning to be more deliberate with my lines by filling a small sketchbook with only ink sketches. Mistakes and all. I need to learn to get over myself and doing drawings solely in ink is a real attitude adjuster, LOL.
Comment: Hi Christine,
Thank you for your lovely postcard.
I hope you can find the dolls very cheap some where for the neighbour girls.
Response: Glad it made it and so quickly. I'm still waiting on postcards I mailed from Poland three weeks ago, LOL. The little Amish girls are so cute I would love to find them the dolls. Happy swapping!
Comment: There was a little adress at the back of the "postcard". The rest of the back was fully written in a tiny hadwriting. I loved to read your story! Guess what! Maybe... we will have a dog. She's coming to stay with us for a week :-) But we have to think about it twice, because like you said it's a long commitment... Thanks for your lovely postcard!
What an interesting writing you are. I just enjoyed all of your thoughts as they flowed off the pages! Enjoy your time overseas! I have enjoyed learning so much about the Holocaust since I was young so I'm excited for you to get to see so much history and be able to remember those people💜 I'm a huge Corrie Ten Boom fan, so you know her!? Amazing woman! Thanks for writing!
Response: Corrie Ten Boom is an amazing woman, no doubt about it. You take care now :)
Comment: I really enjoyed reading your August Journal. I hope you have a good time at the Women's Initiative event. Thank you for the goodies too. I liked your decorations and the stamps. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
Comment: I'm really sorry for my late rating. I got your package, which was pretty lovely! :) I loved reading your posts and thank you for all the postcards, writing sets and coins you included! Unfortunately I haven't updated my quaters' list for a while, but you sent coins which I haven't had before! *.*
Comment: Really cute ATC! I love it - so unique and fun :) Would have been nice for communication to advise would be posted late (deadline 24th, postmarked 29th Aug) however I know life happens, and not super late - so all good.. :)
Comment: THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for the wonderful letter/postcard. I run a graphic design company and yes, I am not local. moved to shanghai and so far has been here for 15 years! time goes so fast here!
Response: How cool that you moved and live there and run the graphic design company. That has to be interesting :)
Comment: LOVE it!! My husband asked if you thought I was full of crap....lol! It brightened my day after a "crappy" day at work! Hugs
Response: It is multipurpose! You can use it for whatever you would like...crafting, stuffing your bra or cushioning for a package, then make a crappy craft out of the tube! Voila!! And it was entertaining all sorts of folks along the way! LOL.
Comment: Great card !
I love the idea and am willing to try it out myself... have to "translate" some of the things into Swedish stuff... sometimes things have different names or doesn't exist so I have to find the right ones :)
Response: It is really easy and fun. I was surprised really. I take it the card made it in one piece? All the better!! Whoot!!
Comment: Thanks for the neat postcard. I had vertigo too. It lasted for about 4 months and my doctor sent me to an allergy doctor. He put me in a chair like a dental chair, turned me upside down and ran something across my forehead. I was told not to move my head for 24 hours and be very careful for the next week. After 48 hours it was gone. Sounds strange, but it worked. :)
Response: I've heard of spinning tables or maybe what you had. Hmmm. It has been 10 months and once in awhile I get a "whoops!" in the head. By the time I realize it, it's gone LOL. Interesting.
Comment: Hi Christine (Dorcas!) Oh, your postcard made me smile (and blush, just a little!) Very clever and I'll never look at those Quiltin' Bee ladies and not think of your card! :-) Happy Swapping! Valerie
Response: Glad you liked it. It is fun making up stories for these cards, LOL.
Comment: First, I have to apologize! I found your letter, along with 5 others in my garage! My lovely, helpful, IDIOT of a boyfriend checked the mail, and promptly plopped it down on his workbench. Only to see the light of day as I was sneak cleaning it while he was out of town! I AM SOOOOO SORRY!
I love what you have done with this ATC. It is very well designed and pleasing to the eye! Now I just have to decide if I will place this with the ATCs which feature a postage stamp or the ones that are more American themed... =)
Response: Oh good, at least you found it! You are the second swapper with man problems and the mail, lol. I used to until I became our mail lady. Now I control it all, bwahahaha! Glad you like it. I really did :).
Comment: It's weird to see a different name for a fast food chain I grew up with! I lived within a few miles of Carl Karcher Enterprises (corporate headquarters) as a child so it's always been Carl's Jr for me.
Response: And you know, I had never heard of Carl's Jr. until this swap! To me that was weird. :)
Comment: Thanks for the Wisconsin PC! I've never heard of this place, but then I don't know EVERY place in Wisconsin! We have a cousin whose last name is Holland - that's funny! Thanks for the card and the info - and happy swapping!
Response: They make the top gouda in the country, check them out online. Love the place and it puts our area on the map.
Comment: What a great take on this theme! I love the card and had to laugh as my ex-mil is VERY much the same. We call her "tipped". lol One year my 11 yr old got a bathroom toilet rug for x-mas and the 8 yr old got ladies slippers! Thanks for joining my swap :) Julia
Response: OMG, are they related? My kids once got what she swept up all a bedroom floor...broken toys and dust bunnies! And she paid to ship it!! Crazy!
Comment: Hi Chris!
I loved the fold and seal note you sent ... your handwriting is both unique and gorgeous! I had to laugh when you called yourself a paperholic! Pretty much sums up the both of us! Happy Swapping! Valerie
Comment: Thank you, Christine, for the lovely Balloons rolo you made for me. I have never made one, so who knows how mine will turn out. I think that the one you made is just fine. Thanks again. pobuffy Also, thank you for the Maryland sticker, I love it.
Response: That is the first time I ever did a paper tearing anything but I like how it turned out. And your welcome for the sticker :). I thought it appropriate.
Comment: Thank you for the postcard! I actually bought the postcard book of this series, but I'm super happy to receive one myself. And I love the little message you wrote to the postal workers (I wonder if they read it), haha.
Response: And this one is tame. Aren't they a hoot? Happy swapping.
Comment: Hi Christie! Thank you so much for the adorable ATC! It's so cute! I like the card. I had to look up where you're from! You're wayyyy up north! Thanks again and I hope to see you in another swap soon!
Response: Only 4 hours or so from you. Not too bad. Everything here is at least an hour away so that is nothing, LOL. Glad you liked my simple pooch :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the awesome post card to me. I love so much all the work and detail you but into the elephant and lucky charms. Also the way you created the back is sweet too. You really are a very gifted artist and I am so honored to have a sample of your outstanding work. Thank you again and thank you for making it so personal to my specific likes. You are too kind =D
Response: I am glad you like it. I could think of all sorts of lucky things but the elephant kept saying "make me", LOL. Happy swapping!
Comment: The PC was really well done and I thought it was great that you finally found what you were looking for. :D But PM me sometime. I think we carry that in our commissary out here. If I can find it for you, I'll be happy to send some along. xo
Response: Geez, that would be awesome. I will do...
Comment: Hi Christine! I just got your parcel in the mail! I enjoyed reading your letter! It's so cool that you have a pony!! Thank you so much for the tea and for the washi tape. You really made my day! :)
Response: Glad it made it safely and you liked it. It was fun to put together!
Comment: Beautiful card, many thanks! Bluetongue skinks and pinktongue skinks are totally different species :-) They are of a different size, eat different food and have a different personality. The bluetongue skinks are full of energy, while the pinktongue skinks are very easy-going :-) They are both from Australia, so not native for me.
Response: Wow, very interesting. I am going to have to learn more about them. Fascinating.
Comment: Hello! Thanks so much for the interesting PC, I LOVE Post Offices =) (So much these days is reliant on internet and other technology, it sounds like your town is really limiting it's citizens!)
Comment: Thank you for the great letter! Your adventure sounds fun but oh so full of stranger danger lol! I love that you played off my profile diamond joke with that diamond paper!! I didn't get it until I got to the end of your letter, but it made me laugh out loud when I did! XP Thanks so much!
Response: Yah looking back on it I'm like OMG but at the time, just a dumb naive country kid...and I'm glad you got a kick out of the diamond comment, LOL.
Comment: Haha. How rural is Lublin? More cows than people? Well at least lots of milk and lots of fresh icecream. :)
Response: Lublin has a population of 100 folks. We have at least six dairies, several who raise heifers and of course then there are the hundreds of beef cattle :). We have lots of yummy cheese too hence the "cheesehead" nickname.
Comment: Thanks for the nice letter, I enjoyed reading it. Love, love, love the calendar envelope, very cool. Is there a pattern to follow to make that or do you just freehand it? To answer your question, I met my hubby online, in a yahoo chat room.
Response: I printed a map of the state and then glued it to a piece of card stock and then used a similar sized envelope opened up and traced it on the back side! I debated sending it as it turned out so heavy but though what the heck, go for it, LOL.
Comment: thank you for the items
A friendly piece of advice, you might want to put a note in swaps stating what swap its for (I know you wrote it in the corner on the envelope but I missed it the first time!)
