Comment: Thank you for the nice and big postcard from Kentucky. A friend from home had lived there before migrating to Italy. Oh and I was surprised to learn more about Transylvania University, as it exists! Dracula must be delighted!
Comment: Thank you so much for the great note card envelope filled with goodies. I love the handmade envelopes and washi samples! The paper you used for the envies is gorgeous and SO me :) Many thanks for the thoughtful swap!
Response: You are so welcome! So glad you liked everything. Thank you for your kind rating!
Comment: Pretty! I like how the oil pastels blended into the paper. The PO postmarked it on the circle side and at first I was bummed, but now that I take another look, the fun colored circles with the postmark wavy lines and date and "Lexington" superimposed on it, its actually really cool looking piece of art!
Response: You are most welcome! I'm glad you liked it. Sorry about the postmark, but I like the way you think!!
Comment: Hi Melony!
Thank you so much for the creative prompts! These will definitely chase away any chance of having writer's block!! Thanks so much!
I also love the laser print outs of the WWII posters! These are REALLY cool and I will use them in my planner!! I love them!
Such a great envelope you made too! Im keeping that as well and turning it into a pocket for my planner!
Love and hugs from NJ!
Response: I am so glad you liked the WWII posters! Have fun with those. And thank you for the rating & heart!
Comment: Your first attempt was wonderful! Way better than mine. Your Arukas was awesome! I also like the beeline. Mine aren't great but I love doing them. Thank you for the web site suggestion. You did an amazing job!
Response: Thank you for your kind feedback!! As long as it's fun - that's my motto! :)
Comment: Melony, I love, love, love the envelopes! I am an envelope addict myself, they are so fun to make and sometimes paper I can't use for other projects make adorable envies! They will all be used and enjoyed, you are so sweet. Thanks for the heads up on Ephemera Paducah. I will need to check that out, Paducah used to have a scrapbook retreat house that closed, haven't been there in awhile but I have a friend who goes there frequently so I will tip her off too. I think it's about 2 1/2 hours from BG, could be a day trip for me!
Response: You are so welcome! I'm glad you like the envies. :) I'd love to hear about it if you visit Ephemera Paducah. It's definitely one of my happy places.
Comment: Hi Melony! TY for the lovely Happy Mail - your pc is so pretty! We have not gotten started with Netflix - we can barely keep up with Dish but I feel like we are missing some good shows!! My hubby is in charge of the remote, so we seem to watch the same old, same old - sigh!! Good to hear about other shows I might get to watch someday! LOL! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thank you! I know what you mean about control of the remote -- my 90 yo grandmother likes to watch Castle reruns one after another! :)
Comment: Thank you Melony, I got a chuckle out of this Kentucky postcard - wonder if the mail carrier read it? Since I work with kids at school, I could see some of them trying as the boy did in your postcard.
Response: Glad you enjoyed my "story". :) When I saw the quote I thought it would make a cute story. I hope the mail carrier enjoyed it. LOL
Comment: I think I will guess, since you have a horse on the front maybe you were at Kentucky derby, if you like horses then maybe you had a cow so I say the lie is living in Transylvania?
Response: Great reasoning - love it! But actually, I did NOT meet Prince at the Derby. I've been to the Derby, but sadly no Prince. The Transylvania was a tricky one. I went to college at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY and lived on campus all four years, so that one was true. Hope you had fun with this - I did! <3
Comment: You did a GREAT JOB on your inchies!
I really love the idea of putting them on a card and when I saw that you did that with them I was like: OOOH, I wish i woulda thought of that! I'm hoping that you got to visit all these places where your inchies are from...it was like a mini trip for me!! Are you the photographer that took these shots? (My favorite, believe it or not, is the picture of Robert Frost's mailbox. That is so cool! They all are awesome and I just love them! Thank you so much! I also thank you for the message you took the time to write. It was so personable and I love the story of how you got your pretty name...thanks for sharing with me!! --Chari
Response: You are welcome! Your message has made my day! Yes, I took all of the photos over the last several years. Seeing Robert Frost's mailbox was really moving. I wondered how many rejection letters he received there before he made it. ;) I have several poet-in-the-making friends, so I'm sure that helped.
Comment: Thanks for your minizine of lists! You did a nice job! My minizine folds just like yours; i sometimes just cut the sticky-out parts off with a paper cutter. I haven't made that many, so that's all the advice I can give you!
Thanks for the swap!
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the nice feedback!!
Response: You are so welcome! Thank you for the great rating! I'm sorry the swans were not a larger focal point, but here in Kentucky it was quite the challenge to find any birds at all -- I was not expecting that. I sort of feel like you got "ripped off" on this swap.... so if I find a nice bird PC, you may get another!!
Comment: I really LOVE!! all the vintage pics and the butterfly stickers...you did great on the washi tape, you also can use a playing card to wrap the tape on it works very well...Thank you so much for my happy mail, it made me happy...
Response: Yay! I'm glad it all worked out. It was fun to put together. Enjoy!
Comment: Love the quote! And I had no idea tobacco plants were so huge!!!
Response: I have a very limited supply of PCs here in central Ky. I thought perhaps you'd enjoy it from the farming standpoint. That and it was the most "politically incorrect" thing I could find. ha ha! Glad you enjoyed it!!
PS - Tobacco was so much taller when I was a kid. Go figure! ;)
Comment: Melody, let me start by saying that most of these songs I know by heart, as I will always have a love for funk and funk influenced bands! I sometimes wonder if I was the disco regular type in a past life ;). If you like these artists you'll absolutely love:
Kurtis Blow - The breaks
Sonny J - Can't stop movin'
JJ Fad - Blame it on the musik
and probably anything by Chromeo if you are anything like me!
I hope you find some awesome new songs! :)
Response: Thank you for the suggestions! Can't wait to check them out!!!
Comment: Welcome to Swap-Bot Melony! This is such a lovely swap that I received from you today, right down to the envie it came in! Everything is wonderful, I love it all and put together so thoughtfully! I wish I could give you many more hearts! :D
Response: You are so very welcome! Thank you for your kind feedback. I had so much fun putting it together -- glad you like it.
