Comment: I don't think death cleaning is morbid. I kind of wish more people would do it. It would have been nice if my father cleaned out his things instead of me having to help do it. With certain things it's hard to part with them, even when they aren't yours. I absolutely love vintage stamps, but the people who are selling them seem to be making a killing. I found a few that are selling only 3 and 5-cent stamps for twice as much. I could use them, but I'd end up covering both sides of the envelope. Thank you for the postalette.

Comment: Thanks for the nice letter. I had a summer cold late in August. I seem to get one every year but I wasn't really going anywhere at the time as it was too hot to go out. 7 days in a row of over 100 degrees. Finally cooled off and we had a nice rain overnight till early afternoon today. Yes the grandkids do grow fast now my great grandkids are all in school except for the newest one just born a couple weeks ago. Oldest just started middle school.

Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely postalette! We are absolutely roasting here in AZ. I am so sick of it. It makes me grouchy! LOL I laughed so hard when you said washing your truck didn't even make it rain! Isn't that the truth. We only get snow every seven years or so. The conditions have to be just right, which is very rare. It never sticks though, and it is always at night so I never see it. Just read about it on the news the next day. How do you avoid driving in the snow and ice? I wouldn't mind snow if I never had to drive in it. Stay cool!

Comment: Hi Ruth! Thank you for the new to me Route 66 pc! I want to take a Route 66 trip at some point - I feel there is lots to miss due to the new/improved highways cutting it off in many places! It is hot as all get out today, supposed to be hear 101 - yikes! And the humidity is so thick, you can cut it with a knife - not my kind of day! Comment: Hi Ruth! Thanks for the very cool PC & postage stamps! I didn’t realize until recently that the typical cactus is called a saguaro. Very near to my home is a house with lots of cacti in his yard - it looks like an Arizona home & there’s a big sign that indicates it’s name is Saguaro. Isn’t it interesting that cacti can thrive here in central Virginia? We don’t get a lot of snow these days but did get 14” in one storm about 5 years ago, & it didn’t seem to bother the cacti. If it snows again, I should get a pic of the saguaro in the snow. Thx again.

Comment: What a cool pc! Thank you. I toured the old Santa Fe jail. There was a big inmate breakout there and people died. No ghost tours but the regular tour really affected me. I was nauseous the whole time!! Which is unusual for me. I hope you tour your local jail soon! Thanks again.

Comment: I haven't been to Alaska either, but my husband has. He did a cruise with his parents and siblings before I knew him, and I told him that doesn't count. He needs to do it with me. This year we will be going to Charleston and Savannah with our kids. We wanted to go out west, but with the airlines and rental cars being so messed up, we decided to drive somewhere closer.

I am so sorry this virus has affected you so much. The envelope decoration is pretty. One close friend in Oregon, the day after she got the shot. It has been about 10 days but she is going to be fine. Her husband got the same shot on the same day with no effect. He is terrified. My husband had the first shot.

Comment: Thanks for the scenic cowboy card and extra, Ruth. We have a lot of cowboys in Florida, too, with over a million head of cattle being raised on 7 million acres of ranchlands. What a lovely thought about the TX Blue Bonnets - my Daffodils were looking amazing and we got snow with some sharp cold, thankfully I had cut a bouquet for the table as I am not sure the others are going to make it - sigh! Comment: Hi Ruth, thank you so much for the notecards and such a lovely note! I love hearing about students who found the love of words and reading with the help of a teacher. Unfortunately, I don't have that experience much anymore. Most students come to me disliking reading to such a degree there's rarely anything I can do to change their minds. It's one of the saddest parts of my job. But I keep trying! Thanks again, fellow Texan! You really should visit San Antonio some day; there are bad traffic areas but nothing as bad as Houston, which I think is a nightmare!
Response: Just a thought for you... You may not realize that you have touched a students heart or life. They just haven't had the guts to tell you or maybe they haven't realized it yet? Just keep doing the job that you do and know that you are doing your part. Never give up! Have a great weekend!

I have found some great stationery at Goodwill. 99% of the time they are in great condition and are only missing a page or two and an envelope for .99-2.99. Some stores in my area have none, while others have some every time I go, so check around!
