Description:

Being on a tight budget these days, I've got to curb my swapping a bit. However, since I like coming home to a "happy" mailbox, I had to get creative and figure out ways to still do that. What I came up with is this: for the price of just $1.76, it's possible to send 4 envelopes of "happy mail" to 4 swap partners. For the cost of just 44 cents per envelope, we can easily brighten someone's day with a cheerful letter, and still have room for including a flat surprise (a recipe, a bookmark, a note card, a postcard, stickers, etc.). And, for no additional $, we can decorate our envelopes (handmade ones out of decorative paper, draw on a plain one, color on a plain one, etc.).

Not bad, eh?

If this sounds like fun to you, come on out & play. While this swap is sender's choice, however I do encourage you to look at your partner's profile for ideas on what to send for the surprise.

To reiterate:

  • 4 partners
  • One letter or note card written to each partner
  • Add a flat surprise
  • Decorate your envelopes
  • Have fun sending & receiving happy mail :-)

This swap is open to everyone with a well-filled out profile. Please sign up only if you are going to follow through. No one likes flakers :-(. I will not be able to angel this swap.

Note: The due date has been edited, to allow more time for writing letters.

Ohh, I signed up for this one last night and just saw that it's only 8 days between sign up deadline and mail deadline. I have to drop for now, because that's a little short for 4 personal letters. I wish you would give us a couple more days ;)

I love this idea! Would you mind if I did a UK or Europe version?

@BerlinGeorgia thanks for the tip about needing more time. I edited the swap to give an extra week & a half to the original due date.

@Itti yes, feel free to host a UK or Europe version.

To my partners: I am marking these "sent" tonight because I'm not sure yet whether or not I'll have Internet access for the next couple of days. But I have them already completed, addressed, and ready to walk out the door first thing in the morning, and don't want to forget to mark them sent in case it does turn out I can't get online the next couple of days.

Happy swapping to all, and to all a good night!

Hi Everyone, I lost my older sister on the 6th. I am trying to do swaps when I have spare time every day.
