Alice in Wonderland - Handmade item

I love Alice!! I have some wonderful Alice items I have purchased from other Etsians.Would something like that-that someone else made-be acceptable? (Of course,it will be hard to part with any of it!)

Well, I would prefer everyone to make something themselves. But, yes, I think that would be acceptable. Especially when you put it in a handmade Alice themed box or envelope. Enjoy, be creative, think out of the box and make your partner happy, that's what it is about!

Why no Disney/Kawaii/Tim Burton, just out of curiosity? I adore Alice in Wonderland, but I'm not crazy about the original illustrations. I love the stuff that trends towards the darker whimsical Alice interpretations like Tim Burton's or American McGee's.

I dont mind making something Disney/Kawaii/Tim Burton as long as my partner makes me something thats not Disney/Kawaii/Tim Burton

I included that because I just don't really like those styles, and I've seen some people around who feel the same. So yeah, for this swap, no disney/kawaii/tim burton. Sorry! Also I can image it is more difficult and less fun to make something in a style you don't like yourself. It does not need to be exactly John Tenniel, but just keep the era the story originates from in mind.

How cool. Im in the middle of making an Alice in Wonderland themed something just to keep me busy so making another one for this swap will be awesome x

I just find it really strange that you would want to host a swap that was only about your personal likes. You end up forcing out a large group of people. To each their own, though. I'm sure there will be several who will enjoy this one.

@silverwing - I think there are more Alice-purists who like the original story/drawings better than the Disney or more recent versions.. (I, myself being one of them.. lol)

I think it's great that there are these boundaries on the swap, so that I don't receive something in a Disney-theme.. it's the main reason I joined in! (I love, love, love Alice, but would be a little disappointed if I received something with Johnny Depp on it, haha..)

I'd say: feel free to host a version that has no rules about which version to use ;)

is there any way that we can request no ATC's? I really dont want any ATCs since i have no need for them, but I dont mind making them if thats what my partner wanted.

If my baby wasn't due any day now, I'd definitely join....! (but now I'm just scared she'll be here a few days early and I'll disappoint my swap partners.. lol) I did request an invite to join the group though!

p.s. If I may be picky, I'd like something else than an ATC too - but if you love making them, I'll rate you a 5 if you send me some nevertheless :)

ATC's are not my favorite either, but I presented it as an options so I want to give the possibility to make them. However, I adjusted the swap text a little, but it is still sender's choice. I don't want to complicate things so short before the sign up deadline.
