Description:

Everyone loves pouches – for this swap, a sweet pouch will additionally have some little things with it that will really make your day.

Pouches can be handmade or bought [as some of us are not confident sewists, and it would be sad to exclude people on this basis. If you do buy a pouch, be mindful of how much effort people put into making handmade pouches, and buy accordingly.] Having said that, improving your sewing skills is always rewarding, and there are plenty of great tutorials out there to help –

http://www.twelve22.org/2006/07/zipper_tutorial.html http://pinsneedles.wordpress.com/2008/01/31/tutorial-a-lined-pouch/ http://www.splityarn.com/splityarn/2007/06/sewazippered.html

The gap between sign up and sending date should allow enough time to make this work!

The contents of the pouch should be something related to craft, and perhaps something related to your recipient’s profile. For example, maybe a pouch with some stickers and brads for a scrapbooker, or some needles and floss for someone who like embroidery.

As this is a small swap [and I expect that the cost of the package will be $5-$10 plus postage], postage shouldn’t be too onerous, and so it will be international. The usual provisos about reserving the right to ban flaky swappers apply here too – but if you have any concerns, please PM me. [Also – this is my first swap, so please be gentle!] ^_^

Some of the links aren't working for me. :-/

And what size pouch? Should it have a zipper close or are other methods acceptable?

Would a draw string pouch with pockets inside.. like a jewelry pouch be ok?

I think non zippered pouches would also be fine - if you feel more comfortable with not having to fuss about zips, I think you will make a better pouch for your swap partner - so win win.

I would suggest that there be some kind of fastener tho ... ^_^

Is it necessary to be a sew pouch? Can it be a crocheted or knitted pouch?

koiwabiru 02/12/2008 #

Don't see why not - that sounds like a great idea. ^_^

Further to a PM'ed question - a closure isn't really necessary.
