Description:

Hi there,

Are you like me? Do you keep a good number of the greeting and note cards that are sent to you, then wonder what to do with those that don't wind up in your scrapbook? Or maybe you get those magazines in the mail that try to sell you their cards and you admire the pictures but would never buy the cards. Well this is the swap for YOU :-)

For this swap you will make 2 (or more if you like) greeting/note cards for 1 partner using recycled materials. The goal is to turn previously received cards and or advertisements into new creations for a new recipient.

Each card must:
* be related to a holiday or birthday occurring November, December, or January
* contain recycled materials
* have three layers (For example layer 1 is the blank base, layer 2 is pictures and words from other cards, and layer 3 is inking, doodling, hardware, etc used to embellish and make details pop. All of the examples linked below have 3 or more layers.)
* be blank inside (decorations ok) or have a removable sentiment (such as a matching post-it note)
* include an envelope
* be signed and dated on the back by the artist, yes that's you

Here are some examples of previous cards I've made using this method, hopefully they will get your imagination going.
* City Skating Scene - 2006 Holiday Card
* Season's Greeting Leaves -2007
* Season's Greeting Blue Bow - 2007
* Merry Christmas Red Canary - 2007

Great idea. Unfortunately, I'm traveling most of that time, so unless I'm very organized and get this done before the sign-up date, I'll have to pass this time. I hope you do something like this again.

Safe travels Swan. I will consider doing it again in the future. You're also welcome to host one when you're done traveling.

Great idea nad beautiful cards in your examples @Kathyy ..are we to leave the inside of cards blank or can we stamp a sentiment inside ? Also, are we to send envelopes for the cards to be mailed in by our partners?...I'm watching for now :)

Thank you @clutterfree for the compliment and the questions. I had included those where I first wrote the swap but I accidentially erase everything and didn't get them put back.

Please leave the card blank inside (decorations/borders are okay) and include envelopes so that your partner may use the cards.
