Sometimes we just need a swift kick in the inspirational rear when it comes to working on an art journal page.

Prompt 1 Could you predict next year, 2013? What do you think would happen (in your life, in your family, in your environment, in the world?

Prompt 2 How did you spent last month? What did you enjoyed the most last month?

Quantity: create TWO art journal pages using these prompts and receive two back. 2 for 2.

Size of the pages: 5"x7"

Margin: leave a 1" margin on the left of the page free from embellishment. This margin is meant for binding.

Orientation: Horizontal Only! When you make the margin the page MUST be horizontally!! But you MAY create landscape or vertical.

Finish the back of each page you create, with your art or with patterned paper. State your swap-bot name, real name, the themes of the pages and the name of the swap on the back of each page. Nice is if you sum up the mediums/technique you used.

MUST: you MUST use a colour medium (acrylic paint, watercolour crayons, watercolour pencils, etc.) is some way! Just collaging , just using stickers or just writing is not it. Make a good combination of the different techniques:-)

Art journaling is a way to express yourself. But leaving pages white/gray of just slapping some paint on a page is too easy. So get it and be very, very, very creative. Keep the quality high!!

Any kind of cardstock can be used (please recycle; time is financially tough, so buying is not necessary!!), but of course it is sender's choice. On art journal pages water is a normal addition to mediums, so use scrap cardstock which is sturdy enough to carry the water layers on it. Please be sure that the cardstock is of substantial weight, because these pages may eventually be bound into a journal.

P.s: any ideas for prompts are welcome; just send me a message. I am willing to host.

Have fun!

My plan was to start arranging swaps in November...... But I could not wait, so I decided to give it a go. Please leave a comment if you have any questions. Hope you'll join me again for a next year collecting beautiful pages:-))

Hi, I'm new to art journaling. But would really like to try it out. Would it be ok to join your swap?

Lucine 11/10/2012 #

Of course! You're welcome to join the swap. Remind that it is not about just using stickers, collaging or writing. There are lots, lots of tuts on youtube:-D

Thanks! I will have a look!

please clarify one more time about the blank one inch for binding....perhaps identify if it should be along the 5" end or the 7" end.

Lucine 12/19/2012 #

Along the 5" left (see picture above >> on the side of the end of the hair). So it doesn't have to be blank, but it should be free from embellishment to make binding easy. See the image above or click the links given in the description area above.

For a prompt for 2013, could we journal a page of a New Years resolution we make for ourselves for 2013 instead of trying to make a prediction?? This would make the page more personal and by journaling a resolution, and it would tell whomever the page is going to more about the person who makes the page. Just a thought.

Got ya, kimmierose22 Ò˜º Please join us, so I can add your suggestion as an option to the first prompt. Thank you!
