Description:

Since this seems to be popular... I am making this a regular swap...thanks for joining!

So, all of us who are paper people have interesting bits and pieces in our stash and this swap will move them around a little. The idea is to use a number 10 envelope (or similar) and fill it up - about an ounce - so it will only need a single 41¢ stamp. They can be any size - unfolded please - and a variety of patterned papers... just keep it to a single envelope and a single stamp.

You should not purchase anything new but try to make it as nice a variety of scraps that you would be happy to receive it.

This will be a US only swap since this is about a cheap quick and dirty single first class stamp swap... and is open to everyone... for new people, please just have your profile fully filled out. I do reserve the right to ban people who have had no-sends or look potentially problematic.

Paper that is not acceptable: wrapping paper, newspaper, paper that is all wrinkled up -- send something people can not only use and would be excited to get but also that are things you would be excited to get.

EDIT: This will be the last round that I host. If someone would like to take this over, please feel free.

a number 10 envelope is standard business size, correct?? just checking- thanks!

Superchou 03/29/2008 #

yeah, but you can use other size envelopes... really looking for envelopes that only require a single stamp to send - so that rules out thos square ones, 6x9's etc...

thanks!

This means I was correct in making up 2 envelopes, right?

Don't forget guys - Postage rates go up on the 12th. Don't be the one who sends postage due stuff!

sobeejoe 05/ 6/2008 #

how do i know who my partner is? Im new at this. i wanna do a fantastic job! and when do we mail em? ON the 23rd? or do they have to BE there on the 23rd? thanks

KristinaLynn 05/ 6/2008 #

Is it okay if there is more than a .41 stamp will cover?

sobeejoe 05/ 7/2008 #

yaay! i am done. now i am just waiting to send it out...

breccamerie 05/ 7/2008 #

I think it's ironic that postage goes up right before we send out our envelopes. May I sugest that you ask for 'Forever' stamps (I think they are called). Don't know all the details but these stamps can be used regardless of rate changes. You will have to ask for them at the post office.

42 Cent swap...

:)

kylanicole 05/10/2008 #

My envies are all ready to go...and I just noticed the "unfolded" clause =[ I hope my partners don't mind, there are a handful of folded papers, that were just too big to fit in the envies! =X Most of them aren't folded, tho.

Envelopes are on their way. I thought the envelope paper was pretty too. So, I addressed and stamped the flap side so there would be one good swatch useable from the front side! .... it's a sickness I tell ya!

Lousmomma 05/12/2008 #

Just thought I'd let ya know my envies are on their way to their new homes :) I am new at this so I hope I did well. Happy swapping everyone!

Who wants to host the next one (5.0)? :) My envelopes are ready to go and I'm starting to think about the next swap!

kylanicole 05/12/2008 #

My envies are sent, but I was 0.1 oz over, so they have two stamps on them -_- I should really learn not to seal envelopes before I get to the p.o.!

I would be willing to host the next one, if no one else steps up. I haven't hosted before, but I feel I'm experienced enough to take it on =]

marleysghost 05/13/2008 #

I sent out my envies too and I'm over too! I weighed the paper, then wrapped it in plastic because it had been raining the last two days, stuck a note on to it, then sealed it in an envelope, put tape on it just to make sure, took it to the post office and... found out that I have obsessive compulsive tendencies.

madsquirrel 05/15/2008 #

I too would be willing to host the next one. Please let me know.

artsnacker 05/16/2008 #

Mine are a little over too...never was good at estimating..

Starwatcher 05/20/2008 #

Maybe these should be called "one stamp" swaps - that way one could chose a 59 cent stamp or even a .72 or .94! It seems that 1 oz is not enough of a "portion size" for us that like to fill our envelopes.

madsquirrel 05/21/2008 #

I can host the next one and get it going asap!

ashleyarsenic 05/22/2008 #

i went over! as usual! (i think it's good though! ha!)

madsquirrel 05/28/2008 #

I have the next one started!
