This is round 2 of the swap. Please read the description before joining :)

UPDATE(2/8/13): Some international swapers informed me that they still have not gotten their journals, so I am extending the sign up and send deadline, so there's some more time for those who have not gotten their journals yet. For those who already have them, feel free to take extra time to do your artwork :)

New information since Round 1: One sign up deadline approaches, I will go through all members to make sure that all the rating requirements are met and no potential flakes are in the swap. So please - remember that this is a long term commitment and may take a bit of your time :))

Everyone: Please message the person whose journal you get during this round. Their name should be on the inside of the back cover. This is to make sure that the journal does not get lost and can be traced back to the last person in possession easier :)

We also have a group (since it's such a lengthy swap), so feel free to join: http://www.swap-bot.com/group/12b714b550010693c39d2ecd602299c6/about

Because it was brought up as a question in the last swap: "Which journal is the best?" I'd have to say something with sturdy enough pages for things like watercolor. If your pages fall apart if you put some water on them, that probably won't work. Since it's an ART journal, I recommend something sturdy that can take all mediums :) Size wise, it's best if it's between sizes A5 (6"x8.5") and A4 (8.5"x12"), otherwise shipping will get very different for everyone and will be slightly unfair ^^;

Please note: This is and art journal, so if you are a beginner or are not sure what an "art journal" is, please ask or look it up. I don't mind explaining it at all :) Just as a quick note art journal is not the same as scrapbooking, otherwise all art forms are a go :)

Previous members: You now have in possession someone else's journal from the first round. This is the journal you will be sending to your partner.

New members: You will be sending your new decorated journal to your swap partner. Please make sure to read the rest of the description about specifics.

Copy-pasted from Round 1:

I was spending my evening on Pinterest and decided to immerse myself into the Journaling boards for some inspiration. Minutes turned into hours and soon I had too much creativity to contain myself. I then decided that it would be incredibly fun to make a traveling art journal!

How it works: - Purchase/make a journal of your choosing (if you purchase one, feel free to decorate it the way you want, or if you make one, you can make it any way you want. I'd suggest 15pages or so, but it's up to you) - Accessorize/decorate it, and write your name/address on the inside of the back cover. Since it will be traveling between multiple people in several rounds, I want to make sure you get your original journal back :) - Send it to your swap partner - Swap partner will fill out a journal spread with art/postcards/scrapbooking/etc. (Think SMASH journals) - Book will be forwarded to the next partner and so on - I am planning on about 10 rounds, and extend it if it goes well.

EDIT: Thanks to suggestions from other users, I have set the rating to 4.95, to avoid flaking and the like. I do appreciate the suggestions that will make this swap safer/more fun, so feel free to message me or post down in the comments :)

I have a couple of questions: Since the first round said that the journal could be basically any size or paper type & the guidelines you give here were just suggestions, my journal, while still an art journal, is a bit smaller (but with more pages). I don't wish to create problems for those who receive the journal, but I also do not wish to be marked down, since I still followed the previous guidelines. I think it still works for watercolors, though I don't know for certain. It's larger than your standard ATC, which I know many do. At any rate, it's too late for anyone from the first round to change anything now, so I hope that everything is still ok. Anyone who receives my journal is more than welcome to use more than 2 pages. Shipping charges have definitely gone way up, for those of us in the US, but it's also too late for anyone to change to smaller journals, either. This should be a fun swap, I just want to make sure that we're not being marked down for these types of issues, when we have followed the original rules...Can't wait to see what everyone makes!

My journal is a decent size and pretty light. It is however an art journal. I dont remember how many rounds we are going to be doing, but feel free to add any additional pages. Anything goes with me just make sure you include your name, date and location. Thank you.

@samsstuff You are fine :) These are simply suggestions, as a few people asked in the previous swap what kind of journals they should be looking for. The reasoning behind my answer is that if it's smaller than that, there's less room to work with, and if it's bigger then it takes a while longer. If you, as the owner are okay with having a smaller journal, that is absolutely fine ^^ Original rules still stand, and that's why I marked them separately before any updates~ If any issues/questions about feedback arise, feel free to ask me/let me know. The rating on this swap and the swaps to follow should be based on the following: 1) Did you get the journal and was it sent on time 2) Did the person who sent it to you use 2 pages for their art work. It is not, at this point, based on how small/large their journal is :) Hope that clears it up~

@amirichinaski Originally, I intended for this to be about 10 rounds, but depending on demand of the group as a whole, we can do less or more. Also, if anyone feels like they cannot do any more rounds, feel free to message me and we can arrange your original journal to be sent back. Otherwise, happy swapping ^^

I am very intrested in joining this swap. but i am a newbie and have not been rated yet. I also am not sure on the journal its self. are we just drawing (painting..ect.) on one page or are we supposed to write a note as well, or a post card? and because i am new should i draw something on my first page of my journal? just wondering i do not want to do this wrong.

comatosebunnies 02/ 8/2013 #

@jcmcelhiney I'm sorry, but the min. rating for joining this swap is 4.95, no newbies. The reason for this is because the swap is a very lengthy one and we must make sure that everyone in the swap has some reputation on this site to avoid flakes. Please feel free to join the rounds following, after you've gained some feedback :) We will be doing quite a few rounds of this swap, so don't worry - there's plenty of time ^_^

Update: I know the deadline to sign up has passed and I will be assigning partners shortly. I am missing one gal from the previous round who has not gotten back to me yet. I just emailed her again, since she has not been on swap-bot for a while. If I don't hear from her by Monday afternoon, I will assign partners without her and deal with sending out a replacement journal instead :( Apologies about the delay !
