Description:

Often on the open swap board, you may get things from newbies who aren't quite sure how this stuff works, people trying out a new craft for the first time, or from people you know just didn't give it their all.

(For some reason, no matter how bad the stuff is, or how unlike my preferences, I just can't bear to throw it away. packrat! ah cough cough)

For this swap, you will have one partner to which you will send a one ounce envie -46 cents- full of your "trash". (Not literally, folks, don't send actual garbage...yuck lol)

Some ideas:

  • ATCs that will never make it into your collection

  • Bad quality used postage stamps

  • Ugly postcards, ATC backgrounds, or memos

  • Ephemera you're not sure why you're still hanging onto because you know you'll never use it on anything

These things can be as awful as you like, because let's face it, sometimes it's funny to see what other people have gotten in "bad" swaps, and the truth is, we all regularly get crap in our mailboxes anyway, why not have it for once be on purpose?? (..I know...I'm terrible, right? heheheh)

US only for this one, given the nature of the envie contents vs. the cost of postage, and the turnaround is super-fast, because you're not making anything, and it's not profile-based.

This is meant to be kinda silly- so don't get too serious!

Have fun~ Destash your trash!

P.S....if anyone seriously requires an angel for this, I will have completely lost my faith in humanity.

O M G DESTINY! i just started a "pile" on a shelf in my craft closet of stuff i have decided i will never ever EVER use. I was going to make a swap like this but i was going to add that whoever sent you thier "treasures" you could try to make something out of a few of thier things and return it to sender. I am so joining this!

I have a pile too. People keep sending me pink things!

Yeah, the only problem is THEN you wind up with someone ELSES trash, and now it's YOUR trash! :)

lol...the idea is that maybe, within the envelope of trash, you find something YOU don't think IS trash, and also have a good laugh. (Also, typically, generous swappers will include a simple, tiny profile-based surprise- maybe some tea or a memo or sending in a nicely decorated mail art envelope etc- to get that heart in the ratings- so it's not all that bad~ just a typical day at the mailbox. :)

One more day to sign up!

I just want to mention one more time that this swap is not profile-based, which means you can have your envelopes together before partners are assigned.

If you'd like to check your partner's profile to include a surprise along with your destash, you are welcome to do so, but it's not required.

Thanks to everyone who joined!

I'm lol-ing at this... "Other peoples trash/junk"... I've so gotta be in this. But I won't send totally crapped out things. Just stuff that doesn't belong with me...! But what made me laugh was thinking about the "trash"/bad swap I received once... Get this, I got a dirty, USED pacifier! WTH! What exactly was I going to do with a used pacifier with greasy fingerprints on it? I donnot have children, & cannot have them... So, WHY? Esp. A USED paci? WHY?! scratches head & laughs anyone had something like this happen to them?

eeeeew no, can't say I have...:/...that's like sending a half-eaten lollipop...I don't want anything that's been in someone else's mouth- fyi...lol
