Does it matter what kind of stickers? I have a ton of stickers of animals in Arabic and English. I don't have much access to really nice stickers like in other places, but I do find "interesting" stickers and teacher stickers. Let me know what you think.

@kgeslab - I like the sound of your interesting stickers. Sometimes colourful and 'popular' stickers get so boring. But I'm not into teacher stickers (unless they were just the weirdest pics or sentiments ever, but that's really unlikely...)

@walkaboutgypsy - Can you please add in some guidelines re stickers so I don't end up with a bunch of smileys and tiny stickers, or teacher stickers, or Christmas stickers.... Of course, if you do want to allow these, that's your right! I might pull out, though, because I hate cheap, tiny, badly printed stickers the most. It's just like receiving rubbish.... :( I just noticed you didn't specify ratings either - how high participants' ratings need to be. That protects us from sending nice stickers out and receiving nothing or nothing much in return. It's important.

I think I will go onto the Watchlist until this is sorted out a bit better. :)

any stickers are fine as long as they are not reward/teacher stickers and teeny sticker 3 would = 1 as i have just edited :)

@papercaper im fairly new to hosting swaps what do you think would be a good rating number ? and ty so much your comments have helped greatly :)

danimariexox 05/28/2013 #

@walkaboutgypsy For the swap I hosted I listed my rating requirement for 4.8 and up. With no recent 1's or 3's. I let newbies in mine with a WEL filled out and detailed profile.

Hope that helps!! :)

What do people consider "well" filled out? Because I'm always afraid of writing too much. :/ Either way I have links to other swap-type sites I'm a part of where I can show I actually send things, so I'm not too worried.

How do we get started on sending and receiving stickers?

papercaper 05/31/2013 #

@walkaboutgypsy I was going to say 4.8 is a good rating requirement too. :)

@Melumebelle Well-filled-out profiles give people enough information to find out a bit about you specifically with regard to the swaps they're trying to send to you. If you say you like cat stickers, a lot of people will go that extra mile and try to send you some cat stickers. Others won't, but they might notice you're into something else, and they might decorate their envelope according to your taste. It also gives people a good sense that they're writing to a real person, but it's not really about writing a biography of who you are and everything you think and want. (Sadly, many people seem to think it is!) I don't mind reading long profiles (mine's long), but rambling or repetitive ones put me off and I don't finish them.

Melumebelle 06/ 2/2013 #

Ah, I see. I completely agree. I always feel like mine get too long so I try and list things I like but not go overboard.

Melumebelle 06/ 4/2013 #

Also, what are loose stickers?

walkaboutgypsy 06/ 5/2013 #

loose stickers are just single stickers or ones you've cut up individually from a sticker sheet :)

papercaper 06/ 6/2013 #

If you have a sticker sheet with 10 stickers on it, and you cut 1 sticker off, that one is a 'loose' sticker. It is not connected to other stickers. It's separate. (Loose stickers are always individual. Never 2 or 3.) :)
