I've been a zine fan for quite awhile now.. But recently I've been thinking about how awesome it would be to create a collaborative zine!
Whether you're a zine newbie, or a veteran zinester, I believe this swap will be both fun & challenging! :D
{HOW THIS WORKS}
- STEP 1: Each swapper will contribute a page to the zine.
- STEP 2: You can create your page about ANYTHING FOOD RELATED! (See suggestions below)
- STEP 3: Mail a copy of your page to your assigned partner, AND to me
- STEP 4: I will collate everyone's submission & hand-bind them into our very first group zine!!
- STEP 5: A copy of the compiled zine will be mailed to all swappers, along with a surprise snack
{THE NITTY GRITTY}
- Each swapper must design & contribute two A5 pages
- All submissions should be on 1 sheet of A4 paper (landscape), folded in half to make the 2 pages
- The A4 sheet can comprise of many small articles, or even 1 big article
- The style, layout, colour/b&w, and content of the page is entirely at your creative discretion
- Remember to write your name/username somewhere on your zine page, so that we know who contributed the page! :)

Some possible topics for your page include (but are not limited to):
* Recipes
* About an ingredient
* Fridge/pantry essentials
* Food related travel adventures
* Cookbook review
* A trip to your local farm/farmers market
* Tutorial on a cooking/baking skill
* Packing a healthy lunch
* Kid-friendly snacks/meals
* Food cartoons
* A food exposé
* 10 essentials for a perfect.. picnic/BBQ/summer/brunch/happy hour
* Best songs to listen to while cooking/baking/dancing in the kitchen

What is a zine?
A zine (pronounced “zeen,†like “magazineâ€) is a self-published, small circulation, non-commercial booklet or magazine, usually produced by one person or a few individuals. Zines come in all shapes, sizes, topics, and formats. Most zines are photocopied, but they can also be printed offset, like a magazine or newspaper. Zines range from handwritten and sloppy to cut-and-paste (text pasted on top of background images) to artsy with handmade touches to produced on a computer with a professional looking layout. Zines may incorporate screenprinting, linoleum cuts, and hand-stitched bindings. Most zines have print runs of a couple dozen to a few hundred copies.
In a zine, you might find typos, improper grammar, and brilliant or radical or just plain honest ideas that you don’t normally see in Time, Newsweek, or People. A zine can be about whatever subject its creator decides upon, or it may contain a variety of subjects and writing styles within the same issue. Zines can include personal essays, political discussions, fiction, craft or do-it-yourself advice, articles about music or movies, comics, poetry, reviews – anything under the sun, really. Zines are personal and idiosyncratic. The best thing about zines is this: There are no rules.

{SIMPLE GUIDELINES}
* You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are!
{REQUIREMENTS}
* I will be checking all profiles before assigning partners, and reserve the right to block any group members that have overdue swaps on their dashboards and/or looks suspicious
* If you get delayed sending out the swap, please be responsible and communicate with your partner & me, and inform us ahead of time
