Description:

As the weather turns to fall, I'm beginning to bring in seeds from my garden. Each year I trade seeds with friends and relatives, and as a result my garden becomes more interesting, diverse and full of personal meaning each year.

As I was sorting through some of these seeds the other day, I found myself wondering if there might be any SwapBot gardeners who were also interested in swapping seeds (either flower or vegetable), and thus a new swap was born.

Please send an amount of seed which would be enough to plant a small area in your garden (approximately 12-40 seeds, depending on how confident you are of their germination abilities). You will be sending to three partners in the USA (due to current laws on the import/export of seeds we will have to keep this within our national borders, I apologize in advance to our international SwapBot friends).

If your state has any additional limitations on seed crossing state lines, please do make the group aware of them below.

As ever, I will be checking all members profiles thoroughly before I assign partners. Please note that if you are currently showing as late on any swaps I will request that you follow through on those before participating in this swap. Newbies are welcome (with well-filled-out profiles).

I'm so excited for this swap! Yesterday I gathered seeds from everything that was bearing them in my yard and property. Lots more than I need for this swap, so I hope you'll host another swap sometime. Or better yet, maybe someone will start a fun, ACTIVE group for gardeners/farmers. :)

@Wanda what a fabulous idea! I would love to join a gardeners group if someone were willing to take that on. I will definitely keep this swap going through the fall and winter, as it seems as though there are quite a few of us seed-saving types out there. :)

I think I goofed because I sent out some fruit seeds, Sorry! No worries tho I'm resending some flower seeds today. Forgive me please :)

@tommythetoad fruit seeds could be interesting! I think that in general flower or vegetable seeds might be the easiest for other swappers to grow in their gardens, although I am noticing that the majority of those in this swap are southern gardeners-- so I wonder. Definitely something that I should add to the next rounds description-- thanks. :)

Checking over the swap descriptions(s), I noticed that it did already mention flower or vegetable seeds only-- so in the interest of fairness I would probably stick to that as a guideline.
