Description:

It's time to start saving that junk mail again! It probably won't take long to acquire more than enough to make postcards. The last round produced some very interesting postcards!

Take that junk mail and make 3 postcards from it. You can't use any other embellishments, just stuff from the junk mail. You can, of course, use an address label if you need to put that on the reverse to write the address and message on.

And just a small word of advice, if you get any of the really shiny slick cards in the mail, be careful using them as the base, because I've found some glue won't hold onto them.

Send ONE postcard to THREE partners.

Postcards should be at least 4 inches x 6 inches, which is the maximum size for postcard rate in the US.

If you make your postcard larger, be sure and check for the proper postage amount.

Postcards are to be mailed without an envelope, so be sure your glue is tight enough for the ride.

The fine print:

This swap is for swappers with a rating of 4.8 or higher, at least 3 rated swaps (mailed swaps), and no swaps outstanding more than 7 days at the close of the signup period.

If you see that there are questionable swappers signed up for this swap, please let me know.

Is this swap international or just USA?

Those shiny cards....sandpaper them! Just take some fine sandpaper and lightly rub all over the surface. It will make it so you can use quality glue and it will stick. Be sure to make sure you brush the dust off before gluing, though.

smokeandmirrors - This swap is for the world since we all get junkmail!

PostMuse - Well that's a great idea. I didn't actually think of sandpapering paper before.

Thanks!

Is it okay to laminate them, and put the postage on afterwards?

YarnTails 05/20/2008 #

lob - Some folks don't mind them laminated, some folks don't like it. It would be best, when partners are assigned, to ask your partner if they mind.

If lamination is not an option, what GLUE do ya'll use? The humidity is high here in Texas and will melt any glue stick and the white glue makes horrible creases. Help!

I usually use a combination of gluestick and jewel glue or heavy tacky glue. I have used clear contact paper over some of my cards and that works good too, just have it go over the edge abou a half inch.

What a great way to turn trash into treasure!

mine are on their way, hugs :-)
