Artistic Deco Swap #1

In this swap we will create a quality artistic deco for 1 partner.

An artistic deco is a handmade quality art booklet, it's similar to friendship book only nicer! FBs are just for addresses . . . an artistic deco is when you decorate a page and send it on.

You decorate a page with some kind of picture or collage that represents you or the theme of the booklet, it's a great way to find new pen pals. You can decorate the page by drawing, pen and ink, painting, color pencil, water color, collage, rubber stamping or any combination of the previous. On the same page you have decorated put your name, your mailing address, swap-bot user name, and email address. You can also include any of the FB acronyms if you like. You can use a mailing label or you could also incorporate your info into your page design via pen and ink, your choice.

1. *****Our art decos should be binded in book form (not just stapled or tied in one corner)*****

   Bind your book using stiching, tying, gluing but NO STAPLES! Make it durable enough to survive several rounds!

2. Make the cover of your book with a card stock or chip board (something rigid not flimsy) and use a type of paper for the pages that can stand up to painting and gluing on both sides.

3. Make your book with 6-8 pages (lots of pages means it will take longer to get it back) and it should not be larger than 5"x5", it shouldn't cost a mint to mail! And in future swaps you will be mailing more than one!


4. Decorate the cover . . . be creative! Use any medium you choose . . . mixed media, collage, paint whatever you love to do!!

   *****DO NOT cover the front and back of the book with any clear adhesive sheet or tape.*****


5. Inside the front cover of the art deco please state the theme if there is one. The "theme" is what ever you want swappers to put on their page. Examples: vintage flowers, a color to use, their idea of great day . . . anything!

6. Somewhere on your book put "please return to" with your name and address on the back inside cover so when your book is full it can be mailed back to you!!

The plan is to do this swap once a month. Soon you will have several Art deco books filled with pages completed by other art deco swappers!
