Description:

One of my favourite things about receiving postcards is hearing something about the sender, which is what inspired me to create this swap.

Here's the idea: for each swap, I will provide a writing prompt or idea, which you will consider when sending your postcard to your swap partner. This prompt might bring up a memory, a feeling or even a conversation that you overheard today in the grocery store. You're free to write as much or as little as you like, as long as it in some way relates to the prompt.

This months prompt: Describe an object which has importance to you. This might be a piece of jewelry, an article of clothing, a household item or any other material object.

Postcards should be chosen with consideration towards the receivers preferences; whether you send your cards naked (without an envelope) or in an envelope is completely up to the sender.

I will be checking participants profiles and ratings thoroughly before assigning partners; please note that if you are currently showing as late on any swaps I will request that you follow through on those before participating in this swap. Similarly, if you have a 1 rating and have not made an effort to follow through on the swap owing to your partner (especially if they are still an active member of the site), I will likely ask that you do this before participating in any of my swaps.

Newbies are welcome on a fairly selective basis. Please have a well filled out profile (with a nice listing of your likes as well as a self introduction) and consider joining the Newbie Helpers group. If I see both of these things when I'm checking your profile, you're in.

I do angel all of my swaps, although I will make every possible effort to ensure that my swaps remain flaker-free.

Are Zazzle pc's allowed for this swap, or only store-bought?

arianneroxa 04/10/2014 #

@lorettadog Zazzle (or similar-type postcards) are allowed unless your assigned partner states on their profile that they would rather not receive them.

What does R15 mean?

arianneroxa 04/30/2014 #

"R15" Just refers to the fact that this is "round 15" of this particular swap. They are repeated every month or so, and you're welcome to join in at any time.

What does Zazzle Mean? I don't want to join unless I know the term and can be sure I will do things properly! Thanks Gabi

Hi Gabi, thanks for your question. :) Zazzle is a website where you can have postcards created from an image that you either create (such as a photograph that you take) or select yourself (such as an image from the internet or other source) -- some people refer to these as 'self-printed' postcards. They're not always considered 'real' postcards (although I've seen some really lovely ones, and enjoy receiving them myself), so it's not a bad idea to check with recipients or swap hosts before you send them off.

"Moo" is another great source for these postcards (although they tend to be a little more expensive) and Cafepress also is another option if you are in the market for these types of postcards. :)
