Description:

Make one partner 4 envelopes. Make sure the envelopes are sturdy enough for international use. They should be mailable size. You can use crafting paper, pages from old books or magazines. If the paper is thin make a lining.

Envelope templates can be found on the internet. Better choose a simple design and get a great result then choose a difficult design and get a sloppy result.

Adding labels and embalishments are optional. All envelopes are sender's choice in color and design. When done put the 4 envelopes in a bigger envelope and write a small note with the swap name and you Swap-bot ID

Most important: Happy crafting :-)

I am tempted to join your swap, but 4 feels like a tad too many to send internationally at once...

kirstyenarno 07/22/2014 #

@hesedetang message me for a privat swap and state the number of envelopes you would like to swap :-)

I love making Mail Art,and don't mind making 4 ...But I Can't Afford to send Internationally anymore, I'm finding it so expensive to send over seas. It's bad enough here to send in the states. Is there any Mail Art swaps where it's here in the usa? Thanks arubberstamper

Just speaking for myself here, but I don't like hosting any swaps that exclude anyone, especially when the point of this group is to help all newbies get ratings.

I would suggest that you approach another USA swapper on this list and set up a private swap for the same thing. (";)

It would only cost $1.15 to send 4 envelopes Internationally. At the most it would cost $2.13 with these height and width requirements : Max. length 11-1/2", height 6-1/8" or thickness 1/4"

eelliott 07/23/2014 #

Hi, I'm a newbie and yet apparently I don't meet the minimum requirements to join this swap. Unsure how that works since I thought it was to help newbies? Help?

servingHim 07/23/2014 #

I just sent 4 envelopes for the Handmade Envelopes #1 and it was $1.15.

@eelliott , I will send a message to the host. I think she forgot to check the box that allows unrated swappers to join. :)

eelliott 07/23/2014 #

Thanks @TC

kirstyenarno 07/24/2014 #

Thank you @TC for making me aware I forgot to tick the appropriate box, I have done so now. All unrated people are able to sign up.

Thanks for joining this swap :-)

I always and only host international swaps since I live in the Netherlands. As a couple of people have stated above, the reason for choosing four envelopes to one partner, is it can be send as flat mail and the weight isn't too much.

If anyone would like to do a private swap with me for lesser envelopes please feel free to contact me, I am in the Netherlands though.

Please send me a private message if I do not respond to this thread asap. Thanks!!

I am hosting a USA only Mail Art swap in the group, but will also host an international one (or ask another officer to host) if there is enough interest. Just post in that swap's comment section if you would join an international version. LINK

Cool swap!! I love to make envelops

Mummymegan93 08/13/2014 #

When will partners be assigned? Can I send the four in a pre-made envelope that is store brought if I decorate it?

kirstyenarno 08/14/2014 #

Partners will be assigned on the 18th of august. And yes you may send your swap in a regular envelop.

Mummymegan93 08/17/2014 #

All packaged ready for the address!

Girlshawn 08/20/2014 #

I'm frustrated with the paper glue I chose. I'm going to try this double sided tape. What's everyone using? How's your success?

Thanks

TerryF 08/20/2014 #

I use double sided tape for all my HM envelopes and it works really well - I don't trust liquid adhesives for them. (";)

Girlshawn 08/20/2014 #

I used the tape, great success!! It's called swookwang tape. I really love how clean the reaults are.
