Description:

So Christmas is around the corner and I thought I would be nice to do a swap for flat mail items. You will have 5 partners this round. There will be another one with 10 partners around November. You can put them as stocking stuffers and not open them until Christmas, or you can open them as you get it. I personally am just going to use them as stocking stuffers but please rate once you receive (if that makes sense).

Comment in the box down below at least 3 things that would make us smile. Whether it may be some quotes, a postcard, what have you. It can give our partners a little hint on how we're feeling this week. By all means this is still senders choice but I would like to give those an option to say what they may be wanting.

You will have 5 partners this round. This swap is to make someones day. You will put a few items in an envelope with at least one 49 cent stamp. Please let it weigh closely to 1oz of happy mail, don't just add one note and a sticker and think it's going to make someones day, because most likely it won't. It's okay if you go over, but at least 1oz. Please include your user name along with a little note and a couple of the following:

A few ideas:

funny card

postcards

note cards

stationery

journal cards

smash it items

stickers

coins from other countries

washi tape samples

kawaii

positive quotes

ephemera

something that makes you happy

the list goes on, I would suggest to take a peek at their profile and just have fun with it :) You must have at least 15 completed type 2 or 3 swaps.

I've never done this swap before but have been looking at them but im confused (may sound dumb but i wanna be sure) but you say but a few items in a envelope with atleast on 49 cent so do you mean make sure it's atleast enough stuff to need one stamp to mail or put a stamp in the envelope with the items and if I am to put a stamp in the envelope is it to be a used or unused postage stamps as i know some collect used stamps and also can it be a forever stamp ?

rosecoloredglasses 10/15/2014 #

Well, I think I understand this swap... so I'll start with my list... I'm sure it's a list that is supposed to make "me" happy and not "us" ??

Also, it would be great if the contents were wrapped so when we receive the envelope and want to save it for Christmas there won't be any spoilers! Or at least the envelope turned into mail art so it's festive! What do you think?

Anyway..here goes...

  1. Postcards, or notecards with London themed icons on them (bobby, double decker bus, telephone booth, Buckingham Palace guards, Meateaters, etc.)

  2. Quotes written in cool fonts... motivational, inspirational, thought provoking.

  3. Beer or soda bottle labels (from glass bottles).

or

anything you choose! I'm going to keep it for Christmas!

Sounds fun! Merry Christmas!

lol!! thanks @snailmailer ! I knew what I meant but not how to write it!! :)

@craftyanimallover Just try and put in goodies close to 1oz, in the past people would just add a few sticker flakes and think that would make their partner happy. You can include stamps that's unused inside the envelope, but on the outside it should be a forever stamp :)

florenceantonette 10/17/2014 #

@rosecoloredglasses when I referred to "us" I meant as individuals. It would've been weird if I would've said send what makes "me" happy. But the concept is making your partner(s) happy if that makes sense. Well the envelope can be decorated with Christmas themed, but not a requirement for this round. The next swaps will be a requirement for Christmas themed.

This swap is senders choice but we can make suggestions if we want to correct? Now if I do not have what my partners want and I send them something else off of the list they can not rate me a 3 right? I just want to clarify this because I know how anal some people about swaps.

vick302000 10/18/2014 #

I would like: 1, a vintage ATC. 2 Anything vintage 3. I am sure I will enjoy anything you choose.

mariamichelle 10/18/2014 #

ephemera, vintage or not. I just love any pretty paper. I don't hold anyone to the letter of instructions. I have had that happen to me and it's almost made me stop swapping. Merry Christmas.

florenceantonette 10/19/2014 #

@vick302000 it's senders choice. People can leave a list to give you an idea on what to send but they do not rate you a 3 if they do not like the items you sent.

pobuffy 10/21/2014 #

Washi tape, blank postcards, homemade envelopes, pretty much anything, esp. Paris

shirleyinCA 10/22/2014 #

Rub-ons, Hello Kitty, characters from children's literature, Disney (especially older)

TamiTam55 10/24/2014 #

I always feel bad entering swaps like this one because I never feel like the stuff I send is 'good enough' for the swap. I send the one forever stamp amount and the person who sends to me sends more to me than that.

theinkyfrog 10/24/2014 #

I would like washi, used postage stamps, handmade envies, or anything you would like to send. Thank you

myshoesdontmatch 10/24/2014 #

things that make me smile: my kittens, thoughtful swaps, and bright colors! :)

craftqueen 10/25/2014 #

I like washi tape, vintage looking ATC cards and alpha stickers. Thanks in advance :)

BerlinGeorgia 10/25/2014 #

I love calendar stickers and rubber stamps. Things to decorate my calendar pages. Like weather symbols or little quotes or little paper flags/sticky notes. I also like washi. Gold, teal and berry colors are my favorite. :)
