Description:

I'm back after a long break and am excited to decorate some envies. I hope you are, too!

The envelope can be any size. Decorate it anyway you would like with drawings, glitter, stamps, stickers, whatever. You are the artist! I beg you to spend some time on sending something you would like to pull out of the mailbox and only join if you intend on doing that.

You don't have to be a great artist, I know I am not and I use stickers but I enjoy creating and putting my best effort forward. It can be done!

I made the deadline so that our partners can receive their envie by Christmas!

Perhaps make the envie now so that when partners are assigned, you can quickly add the name and address and send the envie on it's way. No more excuses for tardy swaps!

Common Questions:

What is a decorated envie?

It is an addressed envelope with a postage stamp on it but all around the front of the envelope is decorations around the theme. The envelope is not naked any longer!

I also write on the front the name of the swap.

Back side is optional.

You do not have to make the envelope.

You cannot make an envelope out of a calendar page for the decoration and call it a day. You can make do this if you add other components to the envelope to make it decorated.

The envelope is sent through the mail so the post office, the mailman and then your swap partner sees the decorations.

A heart is given by your partner if they are pleased by your work. You do not have to put anything inside the envelope except for the name of the swap but it is always nice to include some cheer.

Please send your envie on time! Make it now and then when you get your partner's info, you just have to write their name and address on the envie. Viola! Sent on time.

Thanks for being in my Decorated Envie Group!

THANK YOU!!!

Hi, I'm watching this swap for now, but was wondering if you might consider changing the send by date. It's likely that the envelope won't be received by Christmas if sent on the last send by date you have now, December 22nd. That would only give it 3 days to arrive before Christmas. Mail slows down around the holidays and I've already noticed slowing down. I'm in Ohio and mail I've sent to Pennsylvania has taken 5 days. If I send it across the country it's longer. Cards/letters I send to California are taking 8 or 9 days to get there.

Hi Starry,

I would expect that people send the envelope with enough time. I suggest in the guidelines to make the envelope NOW so it is ready to put the partner's name on it when partner's are assigned. This is not an international swap. I hope you will join and be someone who sends as soon as partners names go up!

I changed it to the 19th. :) I still think it will be ok. :)
