Description:

This swap is all about easy and fun sewing (machine or by hand).

You will have one swap partner for whom you will sew a fabric heart, not bigger then 4 inches (about 10 cm). You can use regular fabric or felt. Some ideas to add: a ribbon for hanging, embellish it, stuff it, scent it....get creative as long as it is fun to get. Just remember that this is for those of us beginners when it comes to sewing. Do your best to make something cute and lovely your partner will be proud to use as a decoration for Valentine's day or every day decorating.

Do a Pinterest search for "fabric heart" or "felt heart" for ideas and tutorials.

This swap is for newbies with a filled out profile and it is INTERNATIONAL. Rated 4.90 and up.

Any ideas? Any Questions? Please pm me.

How much in postage would a swap like this cost? That is if it were being sent from USA to ? I realize it isn't exact, but I was hoping to get the "price range" I like this swap idea, but I really don't want to spend a lot on shipping something like this. Thanks for any guidance.

Hi there, if you use a padded envelope I would guess around $5.

I just mailed 2 pairs of earrings to Lithuania and it was $6.50 so it definitely depends on the country. I'm going to guess it'll be more like $10ish for shipping internationally.

If you keep it a thin heart under 1/2" thick (as in flat & quilted ) and in a regular 5x7 un-padded envelope, from Canada at least, it would cost around $2.50 - 4 to send to the USA (by my experience)....here they go by weight and the length and width and thickness of the envelope. No need for a padded envelope unless you add hard items such as beads or buttons.

I have made mine today. It look a long time to get the hang of the stitches and things I was trying to do, but either I am a perfectionist or it truly is... It's not very impressive. :'(

Sakura15, the fact that you took the time to make it would be enough to impress me! I'm sure it looks fab. Xx

Can we have some sort of pinterest group or somewhere were we can all see them ;)

deanie 01/20/2015 #

Hi @Sakura15 and everyone. I created a group called Beginners Crafts and created a Flickr photo share site as well at https://www.flickr.com/groups/beginnerscrafts. Please consider joining the group and sharing your completed hearts in the Flickr site. I hope everyone is having fun and thanks for participating!
