So just for a future swap ...

The end of the world is coming and you have been chosen to be saved in an underground bunker. What 10 items would you choose to bring into the bunker with you? Five of the items must be used to define what you think should be saved and passed on to future generations of humanity (examples: things you want preserved like historical transcripts, the bible etc) and 5 can be whatever you want to bring with you. What would you choose for the 10 items and why? :)

I believe "angel" might be your difficult-to-spell word. ;)

chaari 02/ 6/2015 #

@papercaper really? you spell it "angel"? oopsi ☺☺ Well I am no native speaker ^^ I hope you forgive me haha

papercaper 02/ 8/2015 #

@chaari - haha, well, I hope this makes you feel better: your English is ten times better than every other language I know. And there are plenty of native English-speakers who misspell 'angel' as 'angle'.

('Angle' is still a word, of course, just a different word. When you want to say "a right angle is 90°" you do spell it that way.)

The one that really bugs me is stationery/stationary! The first means writing paper & envelopes & office supplies, etc. The second one means 'still' or 'not moving'. Everyone mixes them up! :-P

chaari 02/ 9/2015 #

@papercaper well yeah this really cheers me up haha.

I believe this happens because you pronounce it the same, or at least similar. and as long as you know what is meant, it is ok I guess ^^
