Description:

Yes, PAINT! Your background, that is.

Acrylic paint, watercolor, oil paint, spray paint, craft paint, paint sticks, finger paint, shoot, it could even be house paint but make your background paint. One color, 2 colors, 3 colors or the whole rainbow! It's up to you.

Of course for the rest of the card, you can draw, continue painting, collage, doodle, mixed media. Stickers used tastefully as an accent are fine.

  • 4"x6" ish handmade postcard on heavy cardstock (think: about cereal box weight) Larger is ok if that works better for you. 4x6 naked is postcard postage.

  • Any additional mediums, any theme

  • Naked mailing - I'd like to keep it inexpensive and true mail art but if you are afraid to send your particular card on it's own, an envelope is ok.

  • 1 partner

  • International is ok ($1.15 in us stamps)

Question - can the whole thing be a painting (e.g., abstract rendering) or is it only the background and there has to be more to it than just the paint?

That's completely up to you! It just needs to be an original, handmade card and have paint visible :) Thanks for asking!
