Description:

Yep, by hand or by machine, SEW somewhere on your postcard!

Of course your whole card doesn't need to be sewn :) You could sew an element to your card, sew a border, embroider, whip stitch the edge of an element to add to your card. Hand sew an outline, get fancy with different machine or hand stitches, etc.

The rest of your card can be collaged, painted, sketched, doodled, an enhanced-by-hand photo, diecut parts, all of the above.

On the back, be sure to write the swap name and your SB name.

The usuals:

  • 4"x6" handmade postcard on heavy cardstock (think: about cereal box weight) Larger is ok if that works better for you.

  • Naked mailing - I'd like to keep it inexpensive but if you are afraid to send your particular card on it's own, an envelope is ok.

  • International is ok ($1.15 in us stamps till the 26th and then $1.20)

I have the tools but I don't sew. This will challenge me :) I think I'm going to make my card by sewing on paper and then xyron sticking or double tape that baby to a postcard backing.

FYI: postage rates are NOT going up on April 26th; the increase is temporarily on hold for some reason.

Well that's great news! Yep, they wrote it in red even: http://blog.stamps.com/2015/03/04/usps-announces-postage-rate-increase-starts-april-26-2015/
