Description:

Many of us had a lot of fun with this swap in the old C+P group 2 years ago. I am drawn to these templates, especially for swaps, because it is so interesting to see how different each person's finished piece looks. Let's do it again ...

Create one collage postcard following this template.

The image above is a scrapbook template or scrapbook layout. For this swap, use this template and challenge yourself to create one handmade postcard for one partner following this example. Apply collage techniques with any other mixed media details you wish and make this an ARTFUL creation.

I count roughly 14 items or layers including the backing. Try to follow this template and use at least 10 items. I like this particular template in that it gives us room for minimalism (lots of open space) while still using many different pieces of paper. But, because we're squeezing a square design onto a rectangular design you aren't required to incorporate the minimalism. You're also not required to send a rectangle (though keep postage costs in mind for square postcards).

Where it says "Title" use words or a true title if you wish. You can use scrapbook paper or your usual collage bits or any combination. Your backing can be a mixed media beauty, gelli print, or just a lovely piece of vintage paper. Anything.

Other ideas ... you don't need to use exact matches such as the photo frame with the arrow - but have some accent similar in shape and size.

Sender's choice so you can start now.

If I forgot something, let me know. This is meant to be sent naked but if you know your post office will give you trouble, pop it in an envelope.

Alter this template to fit your postcard - any size.

As always, be sure to include your name and the name of the swap so your partner can rate you.

My count of the elements included may be off a bit. I want to keep this swap fun and a little relaxed while at the same time giving enough instruction to bring us all to similar results. Let's have fun with this one!

Share your finished piece in the CC Flickr Group I'd love to see how we each interpret and execute this challenge!

The larger view of the template is very helpful, thank you.

So, I just noticed that I used the wrong template (duh). I used the ones you did a couple of years ago, instead of the new one. I put this one up on my Flickr page, so you can see it. I'll redo and make a new one using the correct template.
