Zentangle Inspired Art Swap Series Homepage

This is a new swap, since we all had so much fun with Swaps 7.1 and 7.2 :)

Once again, convert your favourite tangles into borders for your swap partner on a pair of ATCs.

-=[[[[[ IMPORTANT: This swap mini-series will take place in TWO stages, please read below for full details. If you cannot commit for BOTH phases, please DO NOT participate at all. I will be checking both Phases and removing people when assigning partners for Phase I on 16 June 2015. **********Please do not merely "watch" this swap, I cannot see your name as a participant if you do. ]]]]]=-

The end goal, after Phase I and II have been completed, is for each participant to receive TWO unique pieces of art, each one created by random collaboration between different artists. [The idea is to have the Borderlines ATCs from Phase I cross International borders in Phase II, get it? ^^]

Please check that you have read ALL the details as the requirements for this swap varies from others in the series.

This is a sender's choice swap, but please avoid religious/controversial themes. This is a type 3, International swap in accordance with Swapbot's terms, with a minimum rating of 4.99 and above. For interested swappers with less than 4.99, do leave me a private message for consideration.

I will angel if necessary.

The Details:

  • Phase I: One partner. Each person creates 2 ATCs, sends out 2 ATCs and receives 2 ATCs.

  • Tangle ONLY THE BORDERS on TWO ATCs [6.4cm x 8.9cm]. You may choose to be creative with the background space, add colours, layer on paperie, use paints, glitter, etc., as long as your tangles form a distinctive border. The MIDDLE of your ATC should be left BLANK for your partner to complete the ATC with their own tangles, for Phase II. You can use any amount of tangles in your border as you please.

  • Write this on the back of the ATCs: "Borderline tangles by ---your ID/name--- ". You may include contact details if you like, but please reserve enough space for your partner to fill in his/her name later.

  • Your ATC blanks may be home-made, and you may choose your favourite art paper, bristol board, strathmore cold press, etc., just ensure your ZIA ATC is thick enough.

  • You may choose to use shading and colours or include sleeves for the ZIA ATCs, but it is not a requirement.

  • Include a note containing: A. your SB moniker, B. swap name, C. quick list of tangles used in your borders.

  • Send your 2 ZIA ATCs and note in an envie.

  • Rate your partner when you receive 2 ZIA ATCs with a note that includes A. B. & C.

  • Remember to sign up for Phase II!!!!!!

  • Have fun! ^^

What if you don't know names for your tangles? I just sort of doodle from what's in my head.

Please try to use known tangles where you can, since this is a Zentangle inspired piece, otherwise please inform your partner that you are not following any tangle patterns but are just doodling.

You may also want to check out tanglepatterns.com if you are in need of ideas :)

Sorry to come to your comment late - in future please drop me a PM ;)
